Got through the mighty 13 Sentinela Aegis Rim !

From the few big VN I played in the last year, I'd say confidently now it was at least one of my favorite if not the better I played in the genre.

To be frank, I didn't know if I'd be convinced like that cuz the free flowing kind of messed up structure of the story made me quite confused for the first part of it easily. But the game does pace itself relatively well with the big shake up reveals ... If not a bit too much by the end but it doesn't detract much from it's great conclusion.

Not easy for those in story heavy games but this one was a real treat ^^

The gameplay aspect with the mech fights is more than serviceable, the RTS sections were nice to progress through in chunks even if sometimes it seems weird to go from 5-10h of story time to go through a 2-3 hours of fights right after. Feels disconnected.

At last, I understand and agree with the high praises the game had back then. Can't say it really ranks among my TOP stories in the medium but definitely in my higher tier 👍

I loved 13 Sentinels; it's not my usual kind of game, at all, and I really wasn't sure if I'd like it, but its crazy story and gorgeous hand drawn art drew me in, as well as it's accessible RTS gameplay.
Definitely one of the more unique games out there, and one that feels right at home on Switch.

I love Vanillaware's unique approach to gameplay. It seems like their main focus is on storytelling but they still manage to find an interesting way to keep the gameplay engaging.

So far with Unicorn Overlord, they're really embraced the idea of 'tactical' gameplay; it literally only gives you control over tactics and maneuvering your troops, with no actual hand-on gameplay/input during the battles. You actually feel like a general commanding your troops, having to watch them battle based on your instructions and preperations rather than directly controlling them.

It may be a red flag for some thinking of Final Fantasy XIII and another game that just plays itself, but the tactical preperations in Unicorn Overlord make perfect sense for a game in this genre.

Yeah, wasn't sure how I'd feel about the difference in tactics this put the player involvement's on.

Yet, I find it quite a refreshing experience when compared to a Fire Emblem game.

Though the scenarists aren't the one involved with 13 Sentinels and it shows. Feels like I'm looking at the classic Fire Emblem lord trope. Which isn't bad per say, but I know a few people who may be tired of it's utilization.

However, character dialogs are exquisitely great, so it balances it out

Agreed. I'll also add that the badass Warrior Queen instead of the old Noble King cliche was one nice departure from the norm. But it's the animations flowing in and out of gameplay naturally then all the unique details during story scenes, which really bring the narrative to life and keep your attention.

Dont forget the Lego Mario Kart releasing in 2025, and select Mario games are within $40-50 for the weekend.

Honestly, this were rather huge announcements for Mar10 Day. Why can't Nintendo be like this for their smaller franchises?

Don't care about rereleases of old games, but Luigi's Mansion 2 and Paper Mario releasing in May/June is at least hopefully a sign that they have some more uannounced stuff cooking for this year.
You'd think if they didn't, they would have saved these two for Q3/4.
