I think a February direct is likely even without the rumours. But I'm still not convinced Switch 2 will be their. I'm still expecting them to mention it is coming to investors in their fiscal year final report and then a reveal event shortly after that (April-June).

But going to be an exciting few months ahead. Switch 2 may be the first console I get on launch day.

Yeah, if it has b/c - I'll get it launch day too.

Not only will they not show anything to do with the Switch successor but they simply can't since they confirm they had no intention to reveal anything hardware related for this current fiscal year.

I know some peeps here are a bit impatient for this thing to show up but Nintendo hasn't even talked about the existence of new hardware. Which they usually do before even going into the reveal of what the next said console here.

At earliest we're hearing the first official word of it's existence in April when the new fiscal year begins and Nintendo announces it through the shareholder QA and the official console reveals happens this summer or early Fall.

Anywoo, finished the Another Code Recollection.
It was a super comfy mystery adventure ride with really nicely explored thematics.
The puzzle aspects of it are may e to simple if you're already knowledgeable of the genre and it's obviously not always sticking it's voice acting in the best direction but the earnest of it's story is something I appreciated.

Anywoo, now I can go finish 13 Sentinels

I finished Super Mario RPG (remake) over the weekend, and I'll probably go for the post-game final final battle.
I understand why people adore the game; I really do. I haven't played the first 2 Paper Mario games in a long time, but I remember the writing and world being more enjoyable. The combat just feels more satisfying as well.
I'm glad I've played it, and I might play through it again one day since it's not a long game.

Lifetime Sales Predictions

Switch: 161 million (was 73 million, then 96 million, then 113 million, then 125 million, then 144 million, then 151 million, then 156 million)

PS5: 115 million (was 105 million) Xbox Series S/X: 48 million (was 60 million, then 67 million, then 57 million)

PS4: 120 mil (was 100 then 130 million, then 122 million) Xbox One: 51 mil (was 50 then 55 mil)

3DS: 75.5 mil (was 73, then 77 million)

They said they wouldn't release new hardware in the 2023 fiscal year, not that they wouldn't reveal any, unless I missed something?

If they announce it in February, it probably won't come out until June at the earliest.

It doesn't really change my point. They've yet to press the button on the Direct for software announcements and there's literally no way they wanna shoot themselves in the foot before the fiscal year has ended by announcing the existence of a new console.

I understand anyone thirst for the prospect of a new hardware but it feels like a few here are willing to burn the steps just so we can get it on as early as possible.

1st half release or summer release is a non-possibility timeframe wise.

I think that we will either get a direct in probably March that will be a 'mini' (about 20 minutes). Or Nintendo will not do a direct and just announce there remaining Switch exclusive games through trailer drops and announcements. Most are going to probably just be remakes and remaster so they don't really have to have a direct. I think that the next Switch will be announced separately from where they announce the remaining Switch exclusives. I think the Switch 2 will have some sort special event in march or April, With a more complete show case over the summer.

Halfway done with FFVI Pixel Remaster.

The next game I'll be playing on my Switch will be Final Fantasy VII.

I just beat FF3 remaster. Liked it a lot more than 2. Started 4 after.

Yeah 3 was really good.

2's pixel remaster is the best (aside from the anniversary extra dungeon which was the best part of the GBA and PSP versions). 2's gameplay system just makes it not as good as the other FF games.

Tell me how you think of FF4 - that was my first FF game and its in my top 5 - I've played and finished the SNES, PS1, GBA, DS, PSP and now NS versions. Planning to play the 3D remake on PC.
