Different gameplay options. I accept that different games can have different gameplay. But crippling a game by taking away a gameplay option it was designed with is bad.

You might not be a professional analyst but you can easily review the sport on its merits. In the end it's all about what you have to say about it. If you can list your valid pros and cons from your view it's absolutely fine. I mean what could go wrong? Lowering a score on a useless aggregator site? People who know you will now have a way better understanding of Baseball.

If it was designed with it but would increase my fun immensely if it was gone, I'd say it was a pretty bad design.

Of course not. But you could rate it based on how easy is for you to learn those rules. It should have a tutorial as every other game, especially for a game where rules are an absolute must. The quality (or lack of) might come exactly from the way how it treats new players

For open world games I think the general rule is to simply have fun while fooling around. Thats far easier to digest and there is no way that someone could have an issue of how it is played.

I wonder if the NMS and BOTW attacks will make him score every big game "low" from now on, just so he can sit back and laugh at fanboys exploding like overgrown zits.

Well, as much as I like Jim, he did gave a 9.5 to horizon and a 9 to Watch Dogs 2.

So a 7 for BotW feels inconsistent.

I also heard he gave an 8 to triforce heroes.

7/10 is not considered low i think... It's generally "good" score.

ok NMS had a 5/10 which again most ppl foynd it appropriate at launch. Can't blame him there.
