Forums - Website Topics - Suggestion: Have posts in off topic section not count towards post count

Why?

Does it annoy you how some people have extremely high post counts?
Does it annoy you how the Off-Topic board is occasionally full of crap?

Neither is a major problem if you ask me. It's good to have all the off-topic stuff in one place, and highly visible post counts just means our younger members don't feel the urge to find other ways to express how l33t they are.

I think not, I don't see the point.

I do think posts in the comments section of news articles and charts pages could be counted though (possibly seperately)

I just saw his profile what was this guy on. Wiiforever, he must of spent days clicking the refresh button on his profile. I think that guy needed to get a life. He has like over 580 000 profile views a great record to own, not. lol

I"m for having 'Off Topics' back on the front page, maybe a separate small box below 'Hot Topics', with five or so entries. The simple fact is there are some very slow gaming days when there really isn't much to talk about.

Maybe that would cut down on the amount of post whoring going on in the off topic section of the forum.

Are you kidding me?  Have you been there lately?  Can you site some examples of threads where this has been occurring?

What a terrible idea. You people have been hellbent on killing off topic off, it's already been dying since it got removed from hot topics so now you want to nullify the actual posts so no one will want to post there at all? I'm just trying to figure out who's family off topic killed to warrant these ridiculous threads, and what the hell's been going on for a lot of these suggestions to have actually happened.

Tag - "No trolling on my watch!"

"Off Topic" section = people could rack up huge totals of posts there undetected.

off-topic is dead, I no longer make any off topic threads(which is good since from now on I will make more serious threads other that useless one's).

Yeah, seriously, quit hating on the off topic section. It doesn't get enough traffic as it is.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson
