Forums - Nintendo - Kimishima expects Switch sales to reach Wii levels

HollyGamer said:
He should aim for PS2 level at last close to it. Because SONY is trying to surpass PS2 sales level with PS4.

PS4 will not break PS2 level sales but will break 100+M imo which will be at least 13+M more than PS3.

Honestly, I don't see it doing better than Xbox 1.

I still think it, as a unified platform, has the potential to do double that.

I still don't get how people think this is absurd. They've literally done it before already.

To who? The Wii sold to old people and kids on the back of a nearly dead gimmick, and the handheld market has collapsed.

I agree handhelds are dying except in Japan due to games on smart phones.

That's an... Optimistic view of things.

It's interesting to read this thread and see the reactions because when Switch was announced it looked far more appealing to me than Wii ever was

I was always clueless about what made Wii popular, most of its games looked like crap and played even worse than crap

Hahahahahah way to revive this thread!!!!

The 200 million prediction was closer than several of the other predictions in this thread, that poster was even told they weren't being rational or logical lol. Threads like this are why we see so many attacks at Switch 2 from posters, the crow they were served by Switch is legendary. Explains why certain mods are even protecting Nintendo distractors, they are still hurt over Switch too lol.

Nah, $300 is a fine launch price for what the Switch is. It can hit it's stride fine a this price.

It will sell well at first as hardcore fans get in on the action, but I can't see it breaking through to the mass market at that price point.

Lmao what a clown

The Wii sold well because it was fun.

Wii Sports was something almost anyone could pick up and enjoy, games like Mario Kart Wii and NSMBWii brought back a lot of lapsed gamers who hadn't played on Nintendo since NES/SNES, while titles like Twilight Princess and Super Mario Galaxy provided awesome experiences for dedicated gamers as well.

The problem with so many posters in this thread was they were analyzing Switch with fanboyism hate, even today a lot of them are doing the same thing with Switch 2.

34 years playing games.
