But it was pretty rad when they added color in the 90s.

In my opinion they didn't go far enough with the New 3DS. Should have been more powerful, perhaps at par with Vita, and pushed 480p. Felt like a missed opportunity.

As long as 3DS remains alive, it will be leeching resources away from Switch, resources it needs to succeed. Switch needs exclusive mainline Pokemon, exclusive mainline Monster Hunter, and the full support of Nintendo's firsty party studios, but it will not get these things while 3DS is still around.

Considering its a much cheaper platform (especially 2DS) with a massive userbase, it financially makes sense to support it for it like a year or two as people slowly move over to the new platform. Were talking about a platfrom that still sells a ton of software (i.e. profit).

I feel like the people who will primarily buy a Switch on year one is avid Nintendo fans.

It's odd to have 2 handheld devices being supported by one company. Both are pretty much different from each other. The switch is the most powerful handheld. The 3ds is less powerful, but has stylus touch controls for certain games. I love 3D Picross 2. Wouldn't be so fun on the Switch.

Fire Emblem games on the 3DS are, by far, the best uses of the 3D I've seen on the handheld.

I rest my case. Let them be the technical showcases that prove, yes, the 3D on the 3DS is worthwhile...even if they're the only games where having it on actually blows you away out of sheer awesomeness.

The Soviet Union still existed in the 90's. We had Hammer Time as a massive hit in the 90's. Nintendo was dominant in the console market in the 90's. Much has changed since then
