Looks like GameStop got 500k of the Switch pre-orders and has sold out of them. They currently have 250k in que for more pre-orders and they have had 1.2 million game pre-orders so far.

Wait for what market?  Is that Gamestop through out the world, or just the USA.

if im reading correctly, the 1.2 million figure is for software while the Gamestop launch shipments for hardware will be 500k and they have accepted a further 250k pre-orders for future shipments.

Pent up demand from people wanting something that isn't the Wii U, first 6-8 weeks should be massive. This is why I don't understand those who think it'll sell only a few million for the entire CY. First shipment will disappear right away, the real question is what happens after the dust has settled and slow season sets in, that's the real test.

Wii U also had a 500,000 waiting list and then when it released it only sold 320,000 the first 2 months. Just saying.

Exactly. I don't believe ANYTHING Gamestop says about pre-orders since.
They just want to hype people into thinking that it's a very desired product.
