Nintendo is "over-challenged" by basically every aspect of the modern game market, lol.

Doesn't mean they don't make some terrific games, but virtually anything modern seems to be a monumental undertaking for them. They can't even figure out a unified account system for the Wii U and 3DS. They can't figure out how to market to modern audiences. etc. etc. etc. etc.

It's just Nintendo being Nintendo, it's like trying to explain to your grandparents how to set up a Facebook account.

I think they're starting to get around that more in their own way. Switch had a clear message upon it's initial reveal and has gained millions of views on YouTube on the NoA channel alone. Mobile has done some good for them so far, with pre-orders of Sun and Moon being the highest in Nintendo's history, ORAS and XY finding themselves back in the top of the best selling list again along with the increased sales of the 3DS, and increased awareness of their IPs to broader audiences. We'll see how Mario Run can catch the attention of the millions and millions of people with phones and tablets and influence them to get into the Mario series if they aren't already.

Yes definitely. Look at Zelda. The game not only missed the Wii U's lifecycle but could actually miss the Switch's launch date(if rumors are to be believed).

I'm not saying they haven't been struggling with HD development but I can't believe the negative reaction towards what is rumoured to be the best launch in Nintendo's history.

They were with the WiiU, but let's hope they got their shit together in the meantime.

You maybe would wait for 12. January before saying all that, all we know are games we heard before in one way or another (we even heard before about new 3D Mario and Pikmin 4), for instance nobody knows whats Retros game is or what exactly that's new IP is that Laura mentione, Next Level Games game...of course there will be new games.

Just wait 12. January before you act like you know whole Switch launch and 1st year lineup. In any case Switch 1st year linupe will one of Nintendo strongest ever just with rumoured staffs.

They do seem a bit slow, but that doesn't mean they can't make games look good

Definitely are improving though

why do you think they definitly have improved if the games output just slowed down significantly compared to 2014?

Considering WiiU hurdles that much is certain.

I have no idea. It's hard to make judgments on their software dev when most of the last three years have been dedicated toward the Switch, and that is still a big unknown. The reason Zelda is taking so long is because it is one of the most ambitious videogame titles ever created, maybe the most. Think on it this way, Final Fantasy 15 took over a decade, Breath of the Wild will be about half of that.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

The Nintendo Network ID doesn't count?

They're shifting their attention towards the Switch.
