Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo is screwing those who bought a Wii U

How is this any different than all the PS3 remasters on PS4?

On another note the Wii U failed so hard it be silly not to remaster the games onto a new system to get more money for that software.

So if WiiU loses exclusives retroactively you'll be upset? I don't get it. It's not like a NS port suddenly erases the three years Mario Kart 8 or Smash had (and continue to have) on WiiU. Does the WiiU Virtual Console negate the SNES library?

2016 was abysmal for the WiiU. Xenoblade chronicles X and Super Mario Maker saved the second half of 2015, but since then, Nintendo has been downright assholes to WiiU owners.

A remaster at full price, a botched up starfox game, an average paper mario, and worst of all, Zelda being pushed back to 2017 to be a launch game for the Switch.

I hope that at least, they'll have the decency to offer some kind of offers like the PSPgo did, you give you're WiiU game like let's say mario Kart 8, and you get Mario Kart 8 switch discounted.

And I also hope the WiiU pro controllers will be compatible with the Switch, that should be the bare minimum...

I'm not getting a Switch at launch, I'm going to wait at least 2018, I saw a interesting article saying nobody should buy a Nintendo Handheld at launch, because a year later you'll have a revision.
So I'll wait for the next model of the Switch. I'm not following Nintendo's madness anymore, I'll just wait and see, get stuffs cheaper.

I used to buy Nintendo systems on day one, but I waited for the WiiU, and it was a great decision.

Given what we now know about the Switch, yeah I can understand Wii U owners being angry.

It's basically a revised version of that concept, and Wii U owners clearly got screwed on various fronts.

Most PS4 remasters were released at least 5 years after the games were released on PS4. Also, most PS3 games worth owning will never be remastered.

And since the Wii U failed there is more reason not to remaster the games. None of the games on Virtual Boy or 64DD were ever ported, most Gamecube games were not ported as well.

No they are not. WiiU owners played them while they were new. Did MS screw over XBox owners by taking their games to PC? Or what about the Vita when their exclusives got ported to PS3 or PS4?

You are not entitled to the games on WiiU not getting remastered or a cross gen release. Anyone who thinks like that needs to get over themselves. The WiiU flopped, so it is smart of Nintendo to put them on their new console as well so more people can play them.

If you want to blame someone, blame other gamers for not buying the WiiU. But if you did that it would only be that much more evident how pointless this mindset is.

Instead of whining and complaining unhappy Wii U owners could just sell their console, accessories and games without a big loss.

The Wii U hardware and software prices haven't gone down much in the last years.

Don't worry, I'm sure plenty of the crap Nintendo released for Wii U will never be ported or remastered.

Seriously, if you only get value from others NOT having what you have, you need to get help.
And exactly what is unusual about games releasing near the time of new console being cross-gen?
Are you claiming that you were literally expecting Nintendo to not ever release cross-gen games?

It sounds like your real problem with Wii U on it's own, how Nintendo handles Switch has nothing to do with it.
Wii U wasted it's hardware budget on unproductive gimmicks, and wasn't supported in software.
That's the problem, not that Nintendo will release cross-gen games like every other console maker does.
Or you are saying you would be happier if Nintendo launches their next console with a dearth of games?

Also fuck the NES, those games can be played everywhere now. Waste of fucking money, childhood Christmas has been retro actively ruined -_-

The Vita lost all of its best exclusives because it sold very poorly (save the greatest game ever made, which still remains, inexplicably, a Vita exclusive. Sort of.).

Also, consider this: remasters act as exclusives for people who didn't buy the previous system, because people are less likely to buy old hardware.
