No mention of Switch on RDR2 trailer.Damit

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Watch this footage closely on 1080p, and I think you'll notice the Switch might be considerably more powerful than Wii U:

Depends what you mean by considerably, when I say not substantially more powerful I mean basically not as powerful as an XBO. It could still be twice as powerful as the WiiU though. Nintendo put out some amazing looking games on the WiiU even with it's low power, I'm sure they can surprise us with what they manage to output on the Switch regardless of how much raw power it actaully has.

Skyrim Remastered being on the Switch is a good indicator that it is a very marked improvememt over Wii U.  It would have to be in striking distance of the One at the very least.

Still main question are open:
- Does it have a boost mode for homeplay? If not it won't be much more powerful than the WiiU
- Price? Is 199$ without the dock-station possible?
- BC with 3DS?

1. Personally I think the best you can hope for is a nifty upscaler.

2. Hmmm I'm leaning towards $249.

3. Seems it may have some form of backwards compatibility with the WiiU, so 3ds BC is certainly a strong possibility! Though unknown if it would be digital only.

the "doomed" guys are active

Are you saying this device will bring Nintendo back to the top?

Who cares if it will bring Nintendo back on the top? It looks good, and that is what the people do care about. Did people really care that PS3 wasn't at the top? Do they care that PS4 goes back to the top? All they care is, if the device is flfilling their gaming needs. And switch actually looks like it could do that.

Its not... its going to be about 500 Gflops when its docked (max power), which means about 1/3rd of the XOne.

Going by those rumors of 3x Wii U performance.

Its going to be less than that, when its not docked.... but still powerfull by tablet standards.

By home console standards, this is going to be like 1/10th of the PS4 pro.

In terms of Power, this is the Wii all over again.

However the unified library is a thing that makes this a better situation.

If its priced right (199-249$) this is going to move alot of units.

Uhm, the trailer shows the guy is playing Skyrim HD. That's not vanilla lighting i see so it looks like it's at least a "XOne range" at this point.

Skyrim HD is a remaster. It's not gonna be close to a game that was made from the ground up for X1. Besides, if Skyrim was made for 360 right now, it would look much better than it does.
Not gonna do any specualtions, but a remaster is not a good indicator for power.

That wasn't 3D World, silly BraLoD.

What was that, then?

A new game? I don't remember seeing all those colorful houses in 3D World.

Ok. Now I can explain the reason for the delay.

It looks cool. Pokémon alone will make this sell (especially at $199).

And it seems promising that Bethesda, Take Two (2K and Rockstar), Ubisoft, EA, Activision, Sega, Capcom, Square Enix, Bandai Namco, Konami, etc. are all on board.

Yet no reason not to be optimistic imo.

If the Switch costs $199, you can expect the battery to last 10 minutes... Even if the real controller is sold separately (confirmed), it need to cost more than that to have a good hardware and a good battery in a handheld.
