Welcome to the future... where audio devices will be wireless. Now your music will sound crappier on your ridiculously expensive Bluetooth headphones connected to your Bluetooth-only device. Cables? That is so 1900's.

There is practical thin and there is "how much battery do we need before people will revolt against this BS" thin.

Latest phones I pick I always think "I would be not bothered if it was twice as thick and heavier and instead of 8h batery I had 24h".

Well, I have a OnePlus One and I honestly can't complain about the battery life (nice juicy 3300mAh)

Don't know what that is... expansion battery? My Sony M4 have decent enough battery, but it's so thin and light that I wold have no issue making it bigger and a little smaller on the screen size to better fit my hand and allow single finger/hand typing.

Iphones are overrated and expensive products that people buy only because it's cool to have one, because it's shiny and that your friends already have one so you are forced to have one too.

I suck to adhere to social or peer presure. I may even be a lousy leader or opinion maker, but I'm totally not follower.

The smartphone market´s desire to make everything superthin kind of reminds me of the old phones and making everything so tiny:

And them Smarthphone came to help us..

Problem is we have gone from Cement Block phones to microphones (no pun intended) to Tile phones... it seems like they really need to show they are capable of shrinking things.

The reason I stated the headphone jack removal is because I wanted to show how obsessed Apple is with thin products.

I don't use headphones(rarely), so i don't even care for that. i just hate how they're just aiming for everything to be skinny. It's to the point where it's uncomfortable

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

Other phones and notebooks also get thinner. Why do we have this discussion every single year? When the iPhone 5 released people said the same thing. Today, Android phones are thinner than the iPhone 5 and nobody complains. I just don't get it. You can bet your house the next wave of high end Android smartphones will be thinner than the iPhone 6. And if Apple drops the headphone jack they'll bundle the iPhone with bluetooth earbuds. (btw, if they do that it would also help to make the next iPhone waterproof).

The Macbook is definitely overkill but that's just one product. There's still Macbook Air and Macbook Pro. You can't stay still in this day and age. Other manufacturers do the same thing.

I only have an iphone because all of my friends do, but if they ever remove the headphone jack, then I will be switching to a different brand. My phone is my portable music player. I need the jack. Such a stupid decision, imo.

you 'have' a phone just because your friends do? how stupid is that. buy something because you like it, not to fit into a mold/crowd

Thinner for the sake of pure thinnest especially at the cost of other practical concerns rather than utility is insanity and a step backwards.
