After so many references to F-Zero in NintendoLand and Mario Kart 8 it's oddly left out. Although eShop has FAST racing neo to look forward to this year, and afterwards cool-mixed Next Penelope for the 2D plane.

Advance Wars had its failed revival with Days of Ruin, it'd be nice to alternate from FE back to the strategic AW, but for the revival I'd like to see is a return to Nintendo Wars, maybe best wait for the NX. On a similar note, also think Metroid 2D is best suited for the NX, maybe Metroid Prime's scanning feature could have been a good fit with the Gamepad.

If Nintendo can revive F-Zero and Sega can do the same for Streets of Rage my life will be complete...

Streets of Rage would never be done justice. Just look at Sonic...

Star Tropics! It was such a fun franchise. Nintendo of America really nailed it with that one. I wish Iwata didn't crush them.

No Startropics in poll makes this thread irrelevant.

I would love to see Metroid, Mother, Golden Sun, F-Zero, Paper Mario, Advance Wars, and Punch out make a comeback. Good god, that's pretty much all of the ones in the poll. lol But seriously, they all deserve comebacks. Would especially love to see Golden Sun and Metroid.

And seriously, Startropics. The first two games were so good (very Zelda-esque) and a big part of my childhood.

It'll be awhile before I figure out how to do one of these. :P

Just gimme Advance Wars on 3DS and F-Zero and Wave Race on NX please.

Since Platinum probably won't get the chance to make Metal Gear Rising 2, just throw Murasame Castle at them and tell them to go nuts. What's the worst that could happen?

Pokemon Snap

Probably a proper sequel to Donkey Kong Country. While DKR and DKRU resemble what Rare did 20 years ago, they don't achieve what Rare achieved in being the top console games of their generation. DKC to 2D Platformers was what Mario Galaxy was to 3D Platformers. That is the bar that the DKC team should be aiming for, evolve and take 3D Platformers to the next level, create what is arguably the best game of the generation, not just something that copies a past achievement.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Take a wild guess

Currently most hyped for: FFXV and Zelda U

That's right, I remember. Hideki Kamiya showed interest in reviving The Mysterious Murasame Castle.

Metroid doesn't need a ''revival'', the franchise isn't even dead. With two games for the GCN and two for the Wii. It probably won't make an appearance on the Wii U, so they better get working on a Metroid game for their next home console. Punch-Out!! and Paper Mario aren't really dead either. I'm not too bothered if a franchise skips a generation.

F-Zero needs to be brought back in my opinion. In terms of racing games, Nintendo only has Mario Kart. Whilst I love the more casual gameplay of Mario Kart, I'd also welcome the difficulty of an F-Zero game. F-Zero makes the most sense at the moment

Earthbound is done and finished I believe. I think Itoi has said that he wasn't planning to make a Mother 4, so it's difficult to ask for something like that. I don't want anyone else to touch the franchise either...

As for any other revivals, I always thought it would be cool if we got a sequel to The Mysterious Murasame Castle; a Zelda-esque combat-focussed adventure game. Ice Climbers could work as a 2D or 3D platformer as well. Not too sure what they could do with Duck Hunt, but Nintendo has got plenty of old IPs that have potential.

Actually after great reception and buzz that games maked after they were released on VC Wii U, I think Nintendo have plans for sequel.
