COD>Halo>Destiny in terms of sales.

Halo>COD>Destiny in terms of which is the better franchise :)

There is hype for Taken King? You seem to be the only one here who talks about it. GAF has always loved Destiny since many Bungie people post there.

It wasn't bigger than CoD this iteration, it definitely won't be as big as Blops III. I honestly don't know how Bungie can sustain Destiny long enough to overtake CoD unless they strip games of content even worse than they have with the base game, the expansions, and Taken King.

GAF hates Destiny like the worst thing in the world... the gaming side.

The community side loves it because well just post in the community these that loves the game lol

No offense, but no shit people who post in the CT enjoy the game. That's the point of the community side. That's like pointing out people who post in the Republic of Xbox thread love Xbox. There is still more than enough love to go around for Destiny on the gaming side of GAF. Even when it launched and was in its shittiest form.

CoD is on a decline. Eventually Destiny might pass it, but that would be like a young tennis player passing up an old legend. But it will never be as big a franchise as CoD was in its prime, it's simply driven away too many people. You claim most of them will come back for Taken King, I laugh at that idea. Not to mention, I doubt there's enough compelling meat on the bone for Bungie to milk it that long anyway.

It's gonna take a while for this to happen. CoD is a long running franchise. I think its pretty much shite at this point but obviously plenty disagree. Destiny is gonna need time more of a buildup than a couple DLC and a single expansion.

Two different genres of FPS though as well, so there is that.

Maybe with destiny 2.

Well I always said Destiny will be huge but smaller than CoD francise.

But now after read all the new GI I can make a new bet here.

Destiny franchise will be bigger than CoD franchise.

The game is growing in a way nobody can deny anymore... every single point somebody hated one day is left in the past... after the The Take King expansion the game will reach news levels.

What do you think?

I think the missions in Destiny are still tedious and the multiplayer is unbalanced. I've played it recently to see the changes and still the same disappointing game.

The biggest problems with Destiny can't be fixed easily. Its a souless game only people with loot lust can appreciate.

I don't think so... I don't see any hype for Destiny anymore. It will probably decline in sales or stay flat at best.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

If Destiny as a franchise hangs around long enough for there to be a Destiny 4, then yes it could be that one of the main Destiny releases sells more units than the biggest selling CoD. But it sounds to me like the vision for Destiny isn't traditional sequels but progressively expanded content for the original game. If a major Taken King-like expansion for 2016 packs in with the original game, and download tokens for all the previous major expansions, at a cost of $50 and this becomes the annual pattern then it will be difficult to really make a comparison, because the only people who will by a trackable product will be Destiny noobs. People already into Destiny will just by the expansion, because they have all the past content they want.

I think that it's possible for a Destiny series to outshine the COD series in due time but I don't think this destiny will.

What hype i see zero articles about Destiny or the taken king since it was first announced. This is even the first forum thread ive seen about it.

Destiny will not come anywhere close to the glory days of COD. It will slowly decline unless Bungie does something drastic.
