Why are people surprised by the Xbox One bump?
Heck I even bought a 1TB model to replace my 500GB model. I'm actually shocked the jump wasn't bigger with all the extra deals going on.

Are you sure that's right? I didn't read the quote like that:
"So far this year, sales of Nintendo 3DS hardware have increased by more than 40 percent over sales at the same point last year.”
Sounds like its sales have increased by 40% cumulatively over the first 6 months of the year, rather than being 40% up for the month, but I might be wrong on that.

XB1 undertracked ~90k, PS4 undertracked at least ~45k

Gears Remaster is absoluyely not a remake, its name tels very well what it is
