Forums - Gaming - Where did this stupid "trend" come from? Game trailer reaction videos?

They're all incredibly irritating because almost all the reactions are fake as shit, nobody actually goes on like that in real life. Same reason lots of twitch streamers annoy me, because they overreact to everything on purpose to make them seem entertaining and it's so cringe.

Now fortunately I don't think anyone has gotten really big thanks to this stuff yet cause once that happens I think I'll have to officially declare myself to old for the internet.

This guy caused quite a stir on neoGAF after the video to his reaction to winning an Xbox One was uploaded :P

That was the most horrible and funniest reaction.

Soon, we'll be seeing reactions to reactions as well. That should be even better!

Tyrone Magnus is the best reaction guy on YouTube.

Just putting that out there.

Some personalities are genuinely interesting. They make for real fun viewing, and if they like the same things as you then you can really relate to how they feel.

It's a product of the narcissistic social media culture. People post videos of themselves reacting to something for essentially the same core reason they might continually post selfies and give continual updates of their daily lives on Facebook or Twitter or wherever. It's nothing meaningful. Just shallow "Look at me! Look at me!" behavior.

Some yes, others I think are simply a byproduct of live streaming major games events (or streaming games in general).  Maybe they're being overly dramatic for the camera, but I think it's pretty fair to assume that many of them have serious 'wishes' when it comes to games, and certainly some will have bigger emotional responses to certain events presented in games.

I honestly see where you're coming from, I had that same reaction (hehe) when live reactions became a thing. Recently, I don't mind it as much if the person goes into solid detail, speculations and really goes in-depth deconstructing the trailer/reveal cause sometimes they might pick up on things that I didn't and the likes of that.

As horrendous as the link is, I recommend trying to get through it all, and not losing your faith in humanity in the meantime.

Well let's check that out...nope nope nope, what in the devil is wrong with some people?

I made it to 3:06...good god...why?

Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

I don't understand how seeing other people being happy or excited can be considered a bad thing. I actually like most react videos and reactors as they aren't as jaded and cynical as most Internet users.

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

They existed back in 2013.
