How about Activision going to bed with Sony as well.

First Destiny, then they announce that the PS4 is the new home for COD.

What is next? A Crash Bandicoot reboot co-published between Acti and Sony?

And that's with Sony selling all their stocks in Square Enix last year.

Sony was forced to do it. Like they sold even their main headquarter in Japan and laid off thousands of people. Despite the success of the PS4 Sony is in a desperate financial situation and is making big losses still.

Back to reality:

"Sony Entering Growth Phase, Will Invest Aggressively: CEO"

Sony to Raise $3.6 Billion Selling Stock, Convertible Bonds

Apr 22, 2015

"Sony Corp. raised its profit forecast for the second time since February as Chief Executive Officer Kazuo Hirai’s revamp stokes earnings from games and financial services. "

Maybe it's time to stop spreading the fud?

I really don't think this will revive consoles in Japan. They need to do something crazy and unexpected like Nintendo did with Splatoon. Something like that gets attention and sells consoles.

If you think Splatoon is anywhere near FF7 or DQ11 then you might want to reexamine things.

Sometimes it takes the rest of the world a few years to catch up on the news. :D

Maybe DQ because it stayed in the relative consciousness of Japan gaming, but FF7? Most of the people who played it in Japan have had kids of their own who couldn't care less about it. Heck thanks to the giant dev cycles between FF games and the bad sales and reviews of FFXIII I kinda doubt that it will receive much goodwill from a new generation of japanese gamers. I just don't think it will do all that well.

You're quite mistaken if you think people in their 20s and 30s don't play video games anymore......

Someone mayhave already mentioned this but your list missed all their western developed titles, like deus Ex Tomb Raider and Hitman all of which are coming to Xboxone I think Tomb Raider is even a timed exclusive.

Oh its not that. Its just that I don't think that some DQ spinoffs and a remake of a game from the mid 90s will singlehandedly revive the console market in Japan. It would need to be something like a cultural phenomenon to do this feat.
