Just like MGS4 was on Wii.

There's two differences between Snake in Brawl and Ryu in Smash 4...

1. Snake in Brawl already happened, and Konami screwed Nintendo over by not actually giving Wii U a proper Metal Gear game. Snake is now not in Smash 4.

2. Snake was put into the initial game. Ryu is being added in later. Nintendo clearly didn't feel Ryu was worth including in the original game, and chose Mega Man instead. But they're letting Ryu be the first third-party DLC.

With these two facts, it's reasonable to think that we might see a Ryu-specific title coming up.

That said, I don't specifically think it'll happen, which is why the topic title is "if we're going to...", and not just "what one will it be?"

How in the world did Konami screw Nintendo over by not actually giving the Wii U a proper Metal Gear? You're acting as if they are somehow entitled to a game like that from Konami.

maybe Ryu is in it cause of that voting thing that happened a while ago. IMHO the chances of anything coming from this is small.

I'm pretty sure the update that happened at the same time as the Ballot was opened had that early data indicating Ryu and Roy would be added. So it's highly unlikely that he's being added because of the Ballot.

I guess you have a point, but there is one thing: The poll from months ago.

But if we are to get a game, i'd say Nintedo vs Capcom.

Maybe we could be seeing a port on Wii U, now?

I doubt it, but it could happen.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Sorry, I meant Wii, not Wii U. And the point of it was, they got Snake into Brawl, which basically served as free advertising for Snake... and then Konami didn't support the Wii appropriately (by making a game involving Snake), despite the Wii being the best-selling system at the time.

Compare with Sega, who had Sonic added to Brawl, and supported the Wii extensively, especially with Sonic games.

That's a big if

Tekken x Street Fighter is not a Capcom game.

That's why I worded the actual poll question as "Ryu game", not "Capcom game" - because it's less clear.

Of course, Tekken x Street Fighter may not literally be a Capcom game, but it's certainly part-owned by Capcom, in the same way that the Mario & Sonic olympics games are part-owned by both Nintendo and Sega.

1. How is that different if the same thing could very well happen again?
2. Which could mean that they see people being more inclined to pay for Ryu than for Megaman. Or that they had to prioritize one of them for the deadline of the game. Or saving some more exciting character reveals for later, etc.

Also, keep in mind that there is a SF4 for 3DS, and Smash Bros is also for the 3DS.

But I can see there possibly being a Wii U game with Ryu. But in that case I think it'll be made by Nintendo and not Capcom.
They already have their hands full with SFV, with Capcom, Dimps and Sony working on it.

1. I'm saying that Nintendo has past experience, now, and thus are more likely to include extra conditions on their agreements.

2. Yes, there are other plausible explanations. I'm not saying that it's certain it'll happen. I'm just explaining the plausibility of it happening on the basis of Ryu in Smash.

You mention SF4 for 3DS... sure, but that's PAST content. We're talking about FUTURE content.

Also, I'd be happy to see Nintendo working with third-party characters more extensively... but you're crazy if you think ALL of Capcom is busy working on SFV.

Didn't Tatsunoko vs Capcom flop?

Why would Capcom want anything to do with Nintendo at this point regarding fighters?

Bamco are already making a fighting game for Nintendo so Tekken VS SF ain't happening any time soon (considering T7 is PS4/PC/X1 only)
