I think Mariokart is one of those things were it moves systems, but over a longer slower process. Once Mariokart launches on a console, the consoles rise (not insanely, but rise), but then never go back down. I think with Splatoon, since it's newer and, therefore, has less of a following, will have a lot of early buyers but will not have the legs that a game like Mariokart will have.

No chance. Just because Splatoon was bigger in Japan than Mario Kart 8 in the first 2 weeks doesn't mean that it will be the same in USA.

there is a splatoon bundle?
if so, i think theres a chance, based on what hapenned on japan.
maybe people are saying that the game is amazing for other. and the hardware will start selling more in the following weeks than in the release week...
odd, but happened in jp this week.

You continue to use "not a chance in your comment", but you still not realize what is the sense of this word.

Only because YOU think will not happen, that's not mean will not happen.

I want to say yes, because that's what I whish to happen. But without even so much as NA numbers for the game, I really can't.
My suspicion is that the relative strengh of splatoons HW bump in japan is largely due to Mario Kart 8s very underwhelming bump in the region. The bump in NA and europe was more in line with what's expected from mario kart so I'm not expecting a bigger bump from Splatoon in those regions really. I hope I'm wrong though! ;P
