Great thread Vek! I play videogames the most because it's something which I have done for over 15 years with my Dad. Initially he'd do most of the playing and I'd just press the odd button here or there, but then I got better and eventually overtook him to the point now where I help him out most of the time. But we still play through games together, be it with Mario Kart or Portal, Lego City or GTA, Forza Horizon or World of Goo, there's always something for us to enjoy, bond and generally have fun doing.
I've never had as much fun playing a videogame as I have had with him and that will likely hold true forever, and I'd not have it any other way. I know that next weekend I've already got another game lined up for us to go through so it seems this is a tradition which won't be stopping anytime soon...a reminder that through all the craziness that might have happened as I've grown up and everything which is happening right now...the most important things don't change. And in my opinion, what could be better or more important?
Videogames have made me into a better person. It's introduced me to some truly awesome people and it's provided me with the confidence to do things that I never thought possible. So yes, videogames are great. It's easy to get embroiled in console wars for a lot of people but that was never important to me. There was always something far more significant at the centre of my experience.
