Hmm, I`m not sure how I came to love games. It kind of just happened. Maybe it was the great music, the cool characters, and the wonderful settings I got to traverse to. I guess it`s different for some games.
One of the first games I loved was Sonic the Hedgehog. I loved Sonic, and I loved running thru stages as fast as possible, while listening to that great music ; ) I loved Mario games, like 3 and World, getting from A to B, stomping goombas, shooting turtle shells, and getting those cool power ups. I loved being Ristar, and skipping through some of the best and cheerful music, while bashing things with my HEAD. I loved being Link and going through Hyrule, trying to stop the evil Ganon and exploring dungeons. I love being X and beating all those mavericks. It feels fun and satisfying to slowing grow in strength.
I guess I find joy in playing through fun, colorful, and imaginative places as cool interesting characters. It`s a nice break from the sometimes boring and tough reality. It may have had a big influence in my joy of drawing. Drawing and creating characters and making stories and worlds is a lot of fun, and sort of a way to live out my fantasies. Games surely let me experience things not possible in the real world, and I think that is pretty great.
Also, playing thru stories of certain characters and experiencing their adventures in RPGs I find to be very exciting and addictive. So yeah... Games are great. ; )
