Forums - Gaming - I've come to realize that the "Souls" games and Bloodborne are terrible games...

Sigh.

Here you go.

Enjoy this little bag of attention and savor your moment of relevance.

Lemme guess: You like the game and your feelings are hurt that someone else doesn't?

Off by a very long shot, but sure, if that's what gets you feeling better about yourself.

You played a game that you took no effort to adapt to or to understand, and call it terrible because it won't hold your hand or whisper what a good little boy you are as it tucks you in at night. This is not commentary on the value of the game, on its quality - or even lack of - or anything partaining to the game. This is simply a whine thread that screams "PAY ATTENTION TO ME BECAUSE I DON'T LIKE SOMETHING POPULAR FOR POORLY EXPLAINED REASONS!".

Enjoy the Witcher 3 since it's more your speed then.

Mandatory "git gud" comment.

Lol thanks. I say Bloodborne is terrible and I'm called a fool because "If you don't like a game that doesn't mean it's terrible". Then people turn around and call Dragon Age Inquisition terrible and that's perfectly fine. LOL @ human life

I think Bloodborne is a good game, but not as good as critics say. I think Driveclub and Infamous: Second Son are better games, even though they didn't get nearly the same kind of praise from critics.

I agree that inFAMOUS was a much better game than the critics have it credit for. It's currently the only PS4 game I Platinum'd.

Dislike DriveClub, but I'm not going to disagree with you on that because I just won't play racing games that aren't Mario Kart or Gran Turism, and I can't say whether or not it's actually good.

I would not agree that either of them are better than Bloodborne, though.

These games are incrediably linear

Aren't the Souls games typically full of backtracking and split paths? What do you mean when you say they are linear, because from what I've seen, they are less linear than most games.

You're right they're not linear at all. The order of the bosses you fight differs from player to player. You can also miss some bosses if you don't explore much. Same with areas you can go to an area way before your friends if you explore more than the do. There are many different paths and places to explore. I have no idea how Souls games can be considered linear. They're not open world, but the worlds are huge and you can deviate at any point.

The whole dying brings you back to the beginning thing is exaggerated honestly. It's frustrating at times I admit, but when I get frustrated I just sprint by the enemies and continue where I left off. 99% of the time it works.

You'd hate old games from NES days...

Personally, I think Bloodborne is one of the best games of this generation so far.

Nah, I'm 33 years old. Nothing trumps NES! But we didn't worry about those things back then.

"Seriously, this game has 0 atmosphere whatsoever"

This is...so sad to read.
You may not like the games, that's fine, but this is just false.

Wow, a message board Mercenary. You're 1 in a million. So, I guess there aren't any games you don't like? I mean, every game has its detractors. Why are fans of these games so upset that some people may feel differently? Well, not all fans. Seems you're the only one who's butthurt over it.

Well you obviously have very different tastes from mine. I don't consider Bloodborne nearly as good as you, but I wouldn't say you're wrong cause that's your opinion. I played it for a few hours and managed to beat the first boss by putting a lot of effort, and I just didn't enjoy it enough till that point to really feel that my efforts were put to good use. I loved the atmosphere though.

Glad we agree on Infamous: Second Son, its one of those games which really doesn't get mentioned much anywhere despite being an incredible game. Driveclub is more of a personal taste, probably because I love racing games of all kinds.

If you loved games on NES, which are entirely about dying and starting levels over, then your complaints about Bloodborne are covering up for the real reason you dislike it.

Your personal opinion. As opinions go not very surprising, because every game even the most unpopular is loved by some people and every game even the most popular is hated by some people. No surprise here. You only have to accept that your opinion is very unpopular (the games have 90+ meta-scores) and saying they are terrible instead of "I didn't like them" may be offending to people.
