As for the second , they also say Santa Claus lives in Finland and is helped by elves. If you like to believe that or in JC, go ahead, but it doesn't make it any more true than a giant living above a beanstalk.

A US poll doesn't mean that a worldwide religion is declining (unless you're one of those outselling globally in the US types).

and as far as Jesus, you realize there are many non-religious texts and records that talk about Jesus. Once again, I can understand if you don't believe everything he said or was, but there most definitely was a person named Jesus who traveled around Israel....

Edit: Just in case you take offense to my first comment. Nearly every bit of worldwide research you can find points to Christianity growing at a steady rate (but not as fast as Islam). Link

I came to think of Zeus in Clash of the Titans when he releases the Kraken. "Unleash the Inner Arsehole" sounds so much poetic.

Faith is belief without proof. They've had thousands of years to prove that their god exists, and have yet to even come close. People aren't as easily fooled as they once were.

Works both ways. People had since the beginning of time to prove good doesn't exist and that didn't work out either.

I'm gonna stop you right there. Jesus did in fact live. What is in question is his divinity. Which is a matter of faith as in belief in God, or really that any prophet is actually a Prophet. 

To conflate Jesus of Nazareth and Santa Claus/Tooth Fairy is ignorance(a lack of information)

The problem with religion, politics or any real conflict between humans. comes from one believing himself to be right and the other wrong. But most seem to forget that two opposing forces can both be wrong and more often than not that is the case these days.
