Sony also focused a lot on the social aspect of gaming on a PS4. Share button being one of the examples. This drives up engagement on their systems which in return solidifies their PS+ revenue and brand loyalty.

I dont know what they nailed lol.

-Bad hardware (MS is even worse I know but if something else is worse it does not suddenly and magically make the first thing better)
-online fee
-no games or mediocre games. (Why is there not more quality games like Bloodborne? The thing is 1.5 years old by now.)

They just did 1 thing right and that was the PRICE!
And even Sony said they dont know why the console sold so much  so its far from a "deserved" lead. Its more like a "lucky coincidence".

TBH its an EA dude EA also thinks EA deserves money.

Sony deserves the success. This gen every console maker is getting what they invested. For Sony timing was perfect.

It's not a rocket science to understand the PS4 and Xbox One situation, but even if Xbox one did right PS4 would still lead, but not with big margin like present.

"Winning" a console war generally boils down to making the least mistakes. Like I've said it's like playing golf ... the golfer that can complete the course with the fewest shots (the lowest score) wins the game.

Sony made the fewest mistakes, so they deserve to win. That's really all it boils down to.

Pros:

- Good hardware

- Good pricing from day 1

- Good marketing

- Good third party support

Cons

- Library has been slow to build and over flooded with cross-gen/last-gen remake titles as developers struggle to come to grips with this new generation. But this is only a temporary issue, most consumers are savvy enough to know that having been through previous console cycles.
