Hard to say. I was disappointed that Smash didn't boost its sales all that much, but maybe a price cut would help.

Or maybe all three.

I had a great time playing an old Wii past few weeks (and REALLY think Nintendo messed up by not allowing upscaling on Wii games), but I think this holiday will be: Call of Duty, Fifa, US Football and Halo.

And Fallout 4 if it comes out.

Sorry, none of this will help the WiiU.  Other than more of the Xbox/PS2 time when it was consider an alternative 'kids' console for parents. (Which isn't all bad.)

I agree that Wii U Mario Kart bundle at $249 maybe would sell more than Zelda alone, but I don't agree that Zelda is not system seller,           for home Nintendo consoles biggest sistem seller after Mario Kart and Smash Bros, and i think Zelda U very easy will be bigger sistem seller than Smash Bros. U.

You have some people that dont like too much other Nintendo games but they just love Zelda, I saw so many comments from people that saying that they buying Wii U when Zelda U will arrive.

Doesn't matter at all that Zelda U is cartoon shaded, you can see comments on internet and more than 90% people are very exited about how Zelda U looks. Except that, true is that nobody liked Wind Waker from beginning when was showed (because people was expecting realistic Zelda like from tech demo), but later people start praising Wind Waker art style and game itself and today is one of best Zelda games, and Zelda U is not Wind Waker cartoon shaded, it have much more details and seems that just Link, NPC and enemies will be more cartoon shaded and not so environment itself.

When Zelda come on market always have very big splash, and especially Zelda U, because it is biggest open world Zelda to date, it returning to Zelda roots, looks beautiful and they want to make ultimate Zelda game, definitely will be big sistem seller.

Zelda is not the third biggest system seller Nintendo has. 

Zelda fans just make a lot of noise on the internet, the only Nintendo console that had a Zelda game as one of its top 3 selling Nintendo games was the N64 with Ocarina of Time. That's it. 

EDIT: I just double checked this, and it turns out GoldenEye sold more on the N64, so Zelda: OoT isn't even one of the top 3 selling N64 games. 

Besides that IMO the term "system seller" gets thrown around way too much. There's very, very few games that actually move hardware en masse on their own. 

Wii Sports is one, Halo (OG XBox) would be another. Super Mario 64 was certainly another. Pokemon on Game Boy, yes. Final Fantasy VII on Playstation 1. GTA3 on PS2. Call of Duty on XBox 360, yup. 

The Wii U is going to sell 17-20 million ... somewhere in that range. It doesn't matter if Zelda releases tomorrow, a year from now, two years from now ... it's basically locked in to finish in that range. Something like Splatoon becoming the next Minecraft or Pokemon craze is the only type of thing that would change that. 

Unless they discover a new Wii Sports they won't outdo Holiday 2014. What chance have all those games against the most awaited Smash? And that propped by MK8 released shortly before? No chance.

And to make things worse the base is back to sub 35k from last year. It will be a decedent spiral.

And about third party MP doing good on WiiU please stop joking... Since N64 even if the best version was on Nintendo console its sales would pale against ps And then Xbox. About the image, Nintendo sells that since forever, so don't blame the customers.

I forgot to mention Mario 2D/3D game, after Mario Kart, Mario 2D/3D game and Smash Bros. Zelda is next biggest system seller for Nintendo home consoles and even more, because majority fans of Mario Kart, Mario game and Smash Bros. fans will buy all three games, and there some Zelda fans that only waiting new Zelda game to buy hardware. Because of that you cannot equal numbers of sold games with possibility of moving consoles sales.

After Mario, Legend Of Zelda is probably most important Nintendo IP.

Yes, Wii Sports is one of the best sistem seller ever, Mario 64 too, Smash Bros. Melle and Mario Kart GC too..but that doesn't means that Zelda U will move only few consoles, I think that will be bigger sistem seller than Super Smash Bros. U, maybe even biggest sistem seller after Mario Kart 8.

Wii U is certainly looked at 15-20m, but without Zelda U it would sell at least 3m less and 3m is not little number for 15-20m.

I wouldn't even be surprised at this point.

I'm sorry but this is a silly, borderline demeaning thing to say.  As if people won't buy anything else out of spite. The fact that Zelda isn't there this year obviously has no bearing whatsoever on whether or not I would get any if those other games. I either like them or I do not.

Zelda or no, Devil's Third still looks like Devil's Turd to me. Why would I now suddenly get this? I'm cautiously interested in Mario Maker and Star Fox because of their potential, but I'm not going to blindly buy them now just because Zelda is delayed. I look at it at a game by game basis, now just as much as before Zelda was delayed. Why would I now go and buy something just because? I don't need to fill a yearly quota. That's totally unrelated, and fact remains that this year so far is painfully mediocre (across the board), but I'm still hoping just as hard as all of you that something amazing gets announced at E3.

No doubt it
