Forums - Nintendo - Even without Zelda U, could 2015 be the WiiU's best holiday yet?

I'm not arguing that. The only point I'm arguing is that you said that the last two holidays were bad. 2013 can be argued as not great, but 2014? I'm not so sure. I would also agrue that even with Zelda, 2015 wouldn't win against 2014.

I never said the last holiday was bad. Last holiday, game wise was very good for the Wii U as is this year, even without Zelda.

Shit I'm sorry, this was my bad. I didn't read who replied to my paragraph of text, and I thought it was the OP, who did say the last holiday was bad. Heh, oops...

I dunno about it being the best holiday line up for this year, but it`s not bad. There`s a few titles coming out for the system, so that seems alright. Last year had Smash, which was a pretty big deal.

Considering 2014 had Super Smash Bros, as well, I don't think so.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Sure, without any mega sellers like Smash Bros and by being back to the base of last year it's bound to have a better holiday.

except that smash and MK keep selling and you're using weeks during a game drought.

GameCube had far more diversity if that's what you're talking about that's not even close.

Honestly it's better to just not care. Third parties aren't evil or bad, they just don't fit well with Nintendo nor does Nintendo fit well with them. PS4/XB1 even PC are better outlets for third party games (1 million GTAV in 24 hours on Steam ... no way would GTAV on Wii U sniff that even if it was a great port).

"(1 million GTAV in 24 hours on Steam ... no way would GTAV on Wii U sniff that even if it was a great port). "

You're right, it would sell way more than that, especially on september 2013.

exactly. It would have been the best version if it launched alongside the ps360 versions. It would have been that way until the PS4/X1 versions that came out this last holiday season. It would have been the big system seller and would have confirmed that 3rd party would be alive and well on Wii U. R* skipping Wii U pretty much destroyed the 3rd party movement for Wii U.

rockstar didn't destroy anything, they contributed to it alongside all other 3rd parties. But yes, it would have been the best version and surely it would get good reception from nintendo fans and could steal some extra sales from ps360.

Xenoblade X is more than enough imo

There's no huge system seller and they won't cut the price. This holiday will be awful for the Wii U.

unless they have Mario Galaxy 3, Animal Crossing U or a killer NFC title, I don't think it will happen

a Mario Galaxy title could probably single handedly save the system and boost sales by a large percent. people forget how huge the Mario Galaxy titles were for the Wii, big fanbase

Which is what "base" means.

It's down to the same sales it had last year around the same time. Which means MK8 and SSB didn't have any profound effect on its base. So it's apparently no relevant that those games keep selling because they don't push the base above what it was last year.
