There are other genres on the system, but most are RPGs. So unless you are a huge fan of RPGs, there really is not a point on getting the system. |

the only real effort by third party is the Assasin's Creed game ,call of duty was not even made by activision. Sony first party are not big system sellers especially on Handheld even if all Sony first party had a psv version Vita won't do a lot better |

Likely nothing. It has lost most of it's relevancy as a hand held and making the Vita TV has only complicated the matter.
If they are to make another hand held, it shouldn't be called a Vita...
Gotta figure out how to set these up lol.

Vita need a good 3rd party support to be saved not niche games and late port that's what i meant
Vita can't be saved, Vita won't be saved. Vita is still amazing.
Going back in time seems like the only possibility right now. I'm sure they can have overall profit but nothing will save the vita.
I can't take these threads seriously at this point and I don't know who or what is to blame but I'll be gentle and say it's the broken search function on this site that we get these threads every few weeks again and again and again...
To op: try to use Google next time for vgchartz and you'll find plenty of similar threads and even more posts regarding vita.

For the people I know, the biggest draw back is the lack of a mobile network connection. I have been using my 3G as a phone with Skype for the last three months, and a lot of people have been very interested, but they are disappointed when I tell them Sony does not even make this device anymore. Many people only use their smartphone for web browsing, banking, socal media, and communication. Vita already does all of this, and offers one thing people really want, whether at the bus stop, waiting at the doctors office, sitting in Jury Duty, or any other down time, Vita offers real games.
If Sony released a 4G Vita on every carrier in the US and used their ooVoo partnership to really push the point that it is a Gaming Phone, then they would sell tens of millions. They also need to get every one of the PlayStation services running on the system, Now, Vue, Video, Music, and Remote Play all need to work via 4G upon the release of a model like this. With a fully fledged gaming phone, connected to the largest gaming network i the world, Sony would have a mobile device that is unrivaled on the market, and something that no other company is in any position to compete with.
Now, the one thing about this that may hurt it is the Vita name. As mentioned above, perhaps Sony is already moving on to the next Mobile PlayStation. The lack of first party and big buget 3rd party games does make that seem possible. Also the closing of PS Mobile could be a sign they are getting ready for something bigger, and more integrated in the PSN marketplace.
Perhaps at this point it makes sense to just release a full on Vita successor. Maybe they need a new system, that can capture the excitement of PS4. Get mobile providers exited, offers multiple skus to capture a wider audience, and sets them up for a One Sony ecosystem across home and mobile.

It's not a complete failure in Japan though; it's mostly in the west where it's a disappointment.
Let's not forget that the global installed base is still in the same ballpark as X1.
I'm not sure if pumping out big-budget 1st party games is the solution though. Making new versions with more buttons is probably also not worth it (as it will also confuse the already small market).
I'd say:
- Release an adapter for SD cards (or drastically lower memory cards).
- Update the PSP and PS1 emulation of the Vita so that it will run PSP/PS1 games at Vita's native resolution. And market this ability ("Play the best PS classics on the go; looking better than ever before!")
- Keep attracting 3rd parties (including indies) to release modest-budget titles for it. There's still a good market for those on Vita.
- Make sure that all the niche japanese games are localized, and market this to position the Vita as a gateway to japanese gaming.
- If Nintendo are planning to release titles on smart-devices, have Nintendo to release those on Vita as well
- Open up software development completely; including the ability to side-load apps, and maybe an easy path for porting Android/iOS games.
- Offer a service for western developers to easily localize games for Japan (its biggest market).
But it won't ever become a big mainstream success. Times have changed, and it can only be a great niche device for enthusiasts at best.
Personally I still get a lot of enjoyment out of my Vita though!
