So if Sony announced A Vita 2 with AC wireless, 4G unlocked, and for shoulder buttons with a release schedule of big name 1st parties spreading over the first year, no one would be interested?

If they did this I would buy 20 of them and hand them out to all of my friends and family members. Everyone I know already uses PSN for movies, games, netflix, etc., having the ability to do all of it on one platform with one account would be massivly appealing.

Many people I know already wish that they still made the 3G version, because they would rather pay $200 for this device than the $600 - $800 smartphones manufacturers are ripping them off for.

A Vita with access to all of the PlayStation Network services and features via 4G would be a decent success in the west, and it would get the device in peoples pocket every waking moment instead of now and then. This would lead to more usage, more apps, and create momentum that would make Sony a player in the mobile market. Right now Sony and MS are leading the connected home battle, and Google and Apple are ruling the mobile market. Sony with PlayStation have everything they need to take a commanding position in both markets, they just have to pull the trigger. I think later this year or definitly next is the time to act. Once Now, Vue, Remote Play, Video, and Music are ironex out and available in all major markets, it will be time to make their move.

KBG29 on PSN&XBL

i don't think they can

but if it had a massive memory card price drop, redesign, price cut and a massive software push then they could revive it like the nintendo DS was revived by nintendo

but most likely this won't happen

by lowering the price of memory card and 1st Party support

and another thing, sony shouldn't advertise Vita as an accessory to PS4 but as a gaming device.

It's painful to see how poorly Sony supports the Vita. I guess if you look at sales of the major games, only one (Uncharted) has been a million seller so you can't support something that's not profitable. That hasn't stopped Nintendo from supporting the Wii U in a similar situation, though.

I think if Sony bundled the Vita with the PS4 this year, it could help get the Vita in more households and then, they'd have the install base to justify making more AAA games. Do bundles for all your big releases: Persona 5, MGS V, Uncharted 4. I don't think a Bloodborne PS4+Vita bundle would've been a bad idea.

The Vita can have just as long a lifespan as the PS4 will (7-10 years) if they just start marketing and supporting it. It needs more games to appeal to Western audiences for sure, but just more games in general. I don't expect them to do any of this, though. It's really a shame since the PS4 is so successful that the Vita isn't more than what it is. It's such an awesome handheld.

It'll be awhile before I figure out how to do one of these. :P

XPERIA V(ita) that has android and the Vita OS in the same device.

So what buttons will this phone have? Is it candy bar style? Clamshell? Slide?

it should be a bit thick, so that when you press a physical button in the phone the part in the back slides to the sides of the screen (candy bar) so it would offer actual buttons, and 2 analog sticks like the ones in the PSP, so it does no take to much space.  Ideally it should resemble the form of the VITA a lot.   And also the user interface should be like the one in android phones, but the actual OS a combination of android an vita.
