PS4, can't go wrong with it. Also because Bloodborne is teh shitz!

This has become a surprisingly good thread with lots of well-thought-out suggestions. Honestly I've been planning this thread for a little while, but worried that no one would take it seriously. So I decided to make it on April 1 just to mess with everyone even more.

But my plan failed, no one was deceived by my non-trickery. Damn.

I would recommend getting a Wii U now, since you are a fan of Nintendo games, and possibly a PS4 at the end of its life when you can find it for like $200 with cheap games. Wii U might be like $100 then, but Nintendo games will remain full price. So the cheapest solution is Wii U now and PS4 later. I doubt the next Nintendo system will be backwards compatible for all games.

Wait to E3 then the choice will be pretty clear.

It just depends on the games you want. I mean they all have great games/have good upcoming games. But in my honest opinion, the Wii U will be the best choice. Why? Free online multiplayer, local play (even though you don't think this will be a thing you will use often, you still have the choice) has more exclusives. I look at consoles for exclusives and CURRENTLY I don't see the point of getting either a PS4 or Xbox One quite yet due to that sole reason.

ALSO Wii U is backwards compatible.

Honestly, without Zelda coming out this year, and with local multiplayer being off the table, just get a PS4. I'm sure there will be a new Nintendo system by 2016, so I'd just wait and get that if you really want Nintendo with free online.

Yes, a new handheld. Wii U is not being replaced till 2017 so that it will fulfill its 5 year market life cycle.

I'd definitely have to say PS4. You get a little of everything.

Since you don't intend or don't want to pay for online service then these are your choices.

Wii U ( I thought you had it already)
PC
PS3 (it's not a current gen system, can still give you years of free multiplayer.

PS4 - The only true console this generation imo...
