Seriously wtf IS everybody missing on the Wii U so badly???

I'm 100% content with the first party Nintendo games that have come out in the last 12+ months and that will be coming out in the next 12+ months.  

They are lightyears head on the quality of all the shovelware fodder that plagues the other consoles. I would know since I have a complete PS4 retail library and I'm kinda wearing on all the shovelware that I have to wait for sales for just to keep a 100% collection.


You own all the games on the PS4? You have over 300 games for the PS4 and are actually continuously buying a bunch of retail shovelware to prove a point on an internet forum?! Either you are way too rich for your own good, in which case I doubt you'd be spending much time here debating this, or you're quite simply not even halfway close to being in the vicinity of the truth.

This might very well be the most ridiculous claim I've seen anyone make in here in all my years as a member.


Yes all physical retail release games released in the US.  Including ones like Retro City Rampage.  I put the count at 110 +/- due to some duplicates (I ended up with both a normal Sleeping Dogs and a LE Artbook case version, etc).  Bloodborne is on the way, Clap Trap in a Box, Skylanders Trap Team Dark Ed, and The Order Premium excluded from the pic.  I assure you its all here.  Even the dumb Tomb Raider and the Temple of Osiris even though it doesn't have a disk just because it has a "retail case."  As of it's release today, I'm now only missing Toukiden Kiwami and will likely wait for 39.99 + BB GCU.  Followed by Project Cars and Dark Souls 2 4/7.  I rarely pay more than $32 a game with the exception of some of the big name CEs. I wait for 39.99 a month after release, or B2G1 deals that make new releases 39.99 then throw GCU on top of that.  Crappy games I loathe spending money on I wait till Gamestop has sales on used games to get the crap like Angry Birds Star Wars and NBA Live 14 when its < $10 just for the sake of library completion.  Just snagged Battlefield Hardline Deluxe for $39.99  :D

This was the first console release from day zero since I started having the means to collect and I figure this gen is going to be the last for physical media possibly, and PS4 this gen is clearly the best version of every game for multiplats unlike last gen it was 50/50.  I do Xbox One and Wii U exclusives only.

I didn't come here to prove anything, but I'm not going to get called out either.

Sorry but making a choice to buy every game sold on a system and then complaining that there's too many crap games you have to buy is beyond ridiculous.

Nintendo fucked it up at first and now they have to keep the WiiU floating just with their titles... and they are doing it! I don´t know if any other developer would be able to support a console in the same way. 


As far as the Wii U is concerned, multi plats ARE exclusives because Wii U owners can t play them on Wii U consoles=

 

Nintendo has not given a "Nintendo like" effort for the WiiU-  I wil not buy their next console at launch or the 1st 2 or 3 years if at all 

look at the effort Sony made re the PS3 after they realized how badly they screwed up - look at the effort MSFT has made/stil making after their horrendos launch of the XBox 1-   then look at Nintendo's effort in comparison re the Wii U=  they left it to die from the start



Nintendo could have stolen the race if they wanted to. They're just too ignorant to do so. That doesn't mean I hate Wii U or anything. Nintendo has made some stellar games for it and "Doomed" is a relative word.

If they actually did, they would have already stopped development of their games for the consoles and announced the next one (NX doesn't count, a real presentation of their next console, not just a reminder for "hey, we're not fleeing the console market and going to become a smartphone developer" where we don't even know what NX really is)

If someone left the Wii U there to die, then it's the third party publishers. Nintendo did very much to get them back on board, as could be seen by the launch lineup with almost 20 non-Nintendo, Non-Indie and Non-Virtual Console games. But sales where low because most of these games where already out for some time, horribly optimized Xbox 360 versions with no extra incensitives (and in some cases, even cut content) to make them sell on the new console. So naturally, sales of these games where very bad and then their publishers jumped ship when they realised that 1-year-old games with no bonus or a lowered price attached don't sell a console.

Nintendo is still developing quite a few games for Wii U, and for sure also some yet unnanounced games. But they can only do so much alone. At least the Indie Developers are still there and some of their games are very good (Shovel Knight, Shantae and the Pirate's Curse, Giana Sisters Twisted dreams to name just a few gems)

I bought many of those games and what was DLC in the other versions was free in the Nintendo version. Otherwise I agree with the rest of your post.

Ya it's far from the greatest lineup of fighters ever but my point is that Wii was not lacking this genre, were the competitors better represented in this genre? Yes, but that's not the point. Anybody who owned a Wii and enjoyed fighting games could get a good fighting experience just by owning a Wii.

Let's say u owned Smash Bros, Punch-Out!, Dragon Ball Z, Mortal Kombat, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, that's 5 games with different play styles that recieved an average review score of about 8-8.5, pretty hard to say someone who enjoys fighting games (not diehard fan) couldn't find a good fighting experience on Wii.

What I do believe is that in general, the days of console gaming is coming to an end. I see a massive shift away from gaming on a TV to dominantly mobile gaming, or a smaller device with a VR headset system.

Im a fighting game fan its my fav genre and i couldnt disagree with you more. I owned the WIi and the fighting experience was terrible, no Soul Calibur, Tekken, Street Fighter, Virtua Fighter, Dead or Alive, BlazBLue, Mortal Kombat (new ones not some port of years old game), King of Fighters(again not ports even though i did buy the collection), Person4Arena, MarvelvsCapcom, Injustice. I dont know how a system could not have all this and then someone can still say if you had a Wii you were good. But to each his own

BUt then again i am a diehard fighter so my demands might be higher, BUT considering the popularity of the games i stated were missing on the Wii versus the games that actually appeared on the WIi(smash bros not withstanding the rest of them sold like crap) I dont think i am in the minority here. I mean NO Street Fighter?! come on!

And that's your opinion, one which alot of people dont share.

"Third party games are best enjoyed on Steam" is a rather silly comment, because that's ignoring the many people who's console library mostly consist of games that aren't even on Steam. If you're a big fan of shooters and western rpgs, then sure. If you're mostly into Japanese developed titles, then you're gonna be out of luck for the most part. More Japanese titles have found their way to Steam lately, but there's still a very very long way to go.
Out of my 35+ third party PS3 games, only 9 of them are on Steam. So that's not a good alternative for me at all.
And even besides all of that, a lot of console owners simply don't enjoy gaming on PC for a myriad of different reasons.

I was gonna let the console sales speak for itself but you make good points too. Some of these people kill me, they cant stand that Wii U isnt doing so hot so they try to throw bile at the other two which is dumb considering how much better they are doing, that is NOT going to make WIi U look good no matter the spin
