Forums - Nintendo - Nintendo needs a Direct, N- Oh, wait. Never mind.

I agree. IMO, the problem right now with Nintendo is the uncertainty of what's going on with them which in turn create a lot of speculation and since we are human, we normally let the negative thought outpace the positive thought. First their announcement of making games for the mobile market which wasn't widely accepted by the fans. Maybe they are using part of their resources to help in the mobile development department. Now not only they delayed Zelda U, but they delayed it without any specific release date and no E3 showings. This is not good because it raised the speculation again. Was it delayed because Wii U couldn't handle Zelda U like ps3 couldn't handle the last guardian nor FF15, remember Zelda U is an open world. Maybe it was delayed to have a cross gen released with the new console. These are just 2 speculations without thinking hard.

IMO and this is just my thought exclusively is that Nintendo gave up on this gen already. Microsoft are in a better position with the xbox one and they have done more desperation measure than Nintendo have done. I believe Nintendo is just creating games to please the existing userbase while thinking how could they attract new customers with their new project. They know the existing userbase will jump next gen. Since they already know Wii U doesn't have that ability of attracting new customers, they don't have that sense of urgency with their games anymore. Too many announcement without not knowing what is happening behind those announcement should be frustrating.

So far this year Nintendo has had Mario vs Donkey Kong Tipping Stars, Kirby & The Rainbow Curse and Mario Party 10, so it's not like they've had no retail exclusives this year. Those titles may not be huge exclusives, but they are something, Kirby reviewed reasonably well (75/100), the others not so much, but it's better than nothing.

Nintendo could do with a Direct for Devil's Third, Splatoon, Mario Maker, Kirby, Xenoblade Chronicles X and Starfox (that one could just be a small teaser like the Zelda stuff).
I don't think they should wait until E3 to announce release dates for those games, they need to show they are focused on Wii U right now.

E3 should be for new games to be revealed, but a Direct to set up the system for the rest of the year definitely wouldn't go amiss!

do not try to force logic out of Nintendo, it does not work :(

the next direct we will get is in June. Where we are just going to hear about all the stuff we all ready know about. They stated at E3 they're only focusing on 2015 titles, meaning were just going to hear about the same titles all over again

Yarn Yoshi
Splatoon
Mario Maker
XCX
etc etc

I am gonna assume that they are banking on Smash bros and Mario Kart to keep Wii U gamers entertained. Those are two games that come once in a generation so their shelf life goes the entire life of the console. I agree however, that the Wii U is not feeling the love right now. Splatoon seems to be coming strong so that can help gamers out until we get some E3 announcements.

Seriously. They're all over the place, lately. Great news and stock rising from the news about going mobile and the next week, Zelda U is delayed and not shown at E3.

I'm befuddled. We need a Direct to get us excited about this year and calm down fears. We deserve a Direct just for some communication.

It'll be awhile before I figure out how to do one of these. :P

It's kind of shocking how quickly perceptions shift in this industry. A few weeks back, Order 1886/PS4 had the industry tut-tutting. Then Bloodborne comes out.

Just recently, the whole "Nintendo goes mobile"/NX announcement goes down, and suddenly the Zelda delay stirs things up again.

On-topic, whether Nintendo's silence is "acceptable" will be decided by whether their fans accept it. Personally, I don't know why people are surprised, or even that upset, given the recent history of both the company and its console.

I believe in honesty, civility, generosity, practicality, and impartiality.

Yes, because it's not like they could have any surprises or games they haven't revealed yet or anything. /s

I doubt it. They have enough announced titles atm to fill the rest of the calender year this year and are only focusing on games releasing this year, so that means the title we all ready know about. Nintendo doesnt like putting out more than one wii u game per month

I have also been saying the exact same thing since January when we were just starting to learn more about Splatoon... we still don't know too much about the game, such as hard-fact features, maps, modes.. Nintendo isn't being very transparent right now, but usually is when the Direct comes around.

I'm thinking that this year Nintendo will surprise us beyond what we can imagine.

Splatoon comes out [late?] May still with no official release date and they're seriously running out of time too market this new IP. I think they didn't do enough for Codename STEAM as their 3DS IP that came out this month, so they should figure out what went wrong with that and correct their mistakes with Splatoon.

I believe their next Direct will include Splatoon (If not a Splatoon-only direct), Xenoblade X, Yoshi's Wooly World, and that multiplayer software free-of-purchase that some Japanese guy said would come to the Wii U pretty soon.. What that could be, who knows.

I'm saying it once more, I'm PRETTY sure Nintendo knows what they're doing this time around, and I know they've got another trick up thier sleeve, and it's not the NX.

Iwata said 2 months ago that there are new unnanounced games for WiiU on 2015 that we will know soon (E3)

That´s sound like new 2 games.
