Maybe it's because they feel bad that we won't have time to play all these games coming? Good guy Phil Spencer over there... :/

People don't seem to realize that all these remasters make sense for the PS4 because many of the new owners missed out on the games on the PS3 because they didn't own the console.
And even though i did not, i'm going to get this day one, it was one of the best games the last generation had to offer.
“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”
- George Orwell, ‘1984’
I myself raise an eyebrow when I see the God of War Saga on the PS3, which includes God of War, God of War II, God of War III, God of War: Chains of Olympus, and God of War: Ghosts of Sparta in one package. The package was originally priced for $29.99 (You can now find it for $17.99).
That compared to God of War III remastered, which is the single game upped to 1080p and 60fps, with no additional content (well there's a photo mode). For $39.99.
For me, there's a bit of a "huh?" moment in that comparison, and it's most certainly fine for others to wonder why there wasn't more for GoW's 10th birthday, especially when awesome GoW collections have been done before. That or we're a bunch of h8trs. Take your pick.
I dont know what kind of generalisation this is. I have a problem with it and i have a PS4.

IMO one of the worst arguments here. You're comparing a deal on a late life bundle with a first port to PS4. You definitely did not get GoW 1, 2, 3, etc. bundled for $29.99 in the 2nd year of the PS3.
If you like the games, and would like a big bundle, then you should look forward to eventually getting this GoW III bundled with other games for cheap, a few years from now. The first step is for Sony to get the games ported / remastered.

As far as I know, the game is still God of War III. It's still the exact same content that we've seen on the PS3. And yet it's double the price of a previous collection that includes four other full games.
If you're okay with paying double the amount for 1/5 the content, then go for it. That's certainly your right. I just see the deal of the century for 17 bucks vs. one remastered game for 40 bucks.
It's like Nintendo putting out Metroid Prime 3: Remastered for $40, when the Metroid Prime Trilogy is right there for $20. Just doesn't make much sense to me.
I'm a PS4 gamer and I have a problem with it. They're taking the "PS4 owners who didn't own a PS3 last gen" thing too far. How about cutting the price of PS3 and give an injection to sales of that console? I'm tried of playing PS3 2.0 with all these remasters.
I was cool with TLOU and Tomb Raider because they were late gen games that could have easily been cross-gen. But 5 year old games? For what reason? To make it easy for people who didn't own a PS3 to enjoy some of its best games? Cut the price of PS3! It's been over $200 for how long now? You wouldn't have to worry about catering to gamers who never owned a PS3 on the PS4.....if you'd just make the PS3 a little more attractive. Nobody wants to pay $300 for a 9 year old console just because it has a 500GB HDD

Because its the 10th anniversary of one of Sony's flagship series and a simple Remaster isn't going to cut it
