Why dont you like remasters?

I think they are a cheap way for publishers to squeeze more money from their fans.

What about people who didnt own a PS3?

They missed out on many great games. If the PS3 didnt have many games you wanted to play, then why the fuck would you buy a PS4?

If you think The Last Of Us, GTAV, Tomb Raider, God Of War etc wasnt up to your standards, then fuck off or lower your ridiculous standards!

Why do you feel that these remasters should stop?

Because I bought a new console, so I want to play new games.

I dont know. I have no idea why they feel the need to rebuy a last gen game with a few enhancements.

Good:
New and younger players can enjoy the games that were released earlier;
Other gamers who for some reason missed the game or a whole generation, now can play it on new system;
Fans have another reason to replay remastered/ported edition of their favourite game;
New jobs and experience for inexperienced and young develop teams;
Publishers could earn an extra penny and the brand can breathe a new life.

Bad:
Too much ports and remasters stress well core gamer audience;
In big or small degree, but game ports and remasters distract big studios from their main work;
There are a small amount of gamers who wish that masterpieces remained masterpieces.

I don't mind remasters, I played a few remastered collections on the PS3 because for one reason or another I missed out on the PS2 era. Games such as: Team ICO collection, Sly Cooper series, Jak and Daxter I got to play because of the remastered formats. For me remasters can be a good thing sometimes. I thoroughly enjoyed all 3 of the collections I mentioned especially the Team Ico games, Shadow of the Colossus is one of my all time favorite games and is in my personal top 10 best games of all time.

Not everyone is rich enough to buy a ps3 just for ps3 games, in addition to a ps4 just for ps4 games, so it's a nice fan service by mixing the two togehter

God of war collection on ps3 sold well, halo got microsoft through a holiday drought and sold well, they dont cost too much to make, and make money, so even 400k units of sleeping dogs could be a profit they would otherwise not have

Your opinion is just your opinion and I respect that; however, you do not speak for the rest of us.  If you don't want to buy these remasters then don't pick them up.  Nobody is forcing you to buy them in the first place.  You are also under the impression that these remasters take time away from the developers making new games and are simply just quick cash grabs.  You have no proof of this and are simply spouting nonsense.  You are not a game developer nor do you have any involvement in making these games.

with bolded additions of the game developers that made these games.  As noted in that post, Capcom was the only developer to release multiple remasters as a means to make money (coincidence that they are the ONE company going under right now?)

The reasoning behind releasing a remastered game is rather simple. Game developers are all working on their own PS4 engine for their new games and need a way to sort of test out their engine. By taking a game that they made on a previous console helps accelerate the development of their PS4 engine to see what it is fully capable of.

You constantly speak of wanting new games rather than games that you can play on older consoles.  So if these games dont take time away and help improve newer games, then what seems to be the problem?  Why so much hatred towards remasters?

Nope, that wasn't the point at all. I was pointing out the ratio of remasters compared to new releases. PS4 has more new releases so far this gen than PS3 had this far into its cycle.

Remasters don't take any development time away from new games and if they do its very little, in the mean time you have amny other original material to choose from with a good amount of genres to choose from as well, but keep complaining about imaginary problems.

Atleast it's a whole lot better than having nothing to play at all. Sony is taking all the steps to ensure that the drought is filled with games either remastered or not. This constant bashing of no more creative stuff at the developers should stop. It has a huge potential to sell again north of 1 million with gamers who never owned PS3 last generation. I also believe Sony Santa Monica studios would have something new up their sleeve for E3 2015.

How much would the PS4 cost if it was backwards compatible with Teh Cell and the RSX? Think about that.
