Good:
New and younger players can enjoy the games that were released earlier;
Other gamers who for some reason missed the game or a whole generation, now can play it on new system;
Fans have another reason to replay remastered/ported edition of their favourite game;
New jobs and experience for inexperienced and young develop teams;
Publishers could earn an extra penny and the brand can breathe a new life.
Bad:
Too much ports and remasters stress well core gamer audience;
In big or small degree, but game ports and remasters distract big studios from their main work;
There are a small amount of gamers who wish that masterpieces remained masterpieces.
