They don't not know who he is. But they took his comments as an insult to the beloved Nintendo, so they try to degrade his status in the gaming community as "irrelevant". Because Gears of War, Lost Planet, Unreal Tournament, Bulletstorm, Fat Princess, Shadow Complex, etc. just don't exist or aren't relevant franchises /s.

Turn out, if you don't churn out games every year or 2, you aren't allowed to say anything critical about anyone/thing.

I think most people know who he is.  I do.  He just hasn't done anything worthy of note in quite a while.  I think most people are just sick of people leeching off the sensationalism of the internet and "games media" reports.  I would be just as peeved if Sony did something, it got twisted into some sensationalist headline clickbait fest, and people started leeching off that.

I get that...and I know most of the people in the thread who are saying "who?" are doing so in an effort to troll him and this thread.  I just think that his comment is pretty tame (and a very old joke, btw) and that the only thing sensationalist in this thread...is this thread.

Well I think the joke being old is also annoying to some.  It stopped being funny after the five hundredth time.

He didn't even say anything critical. How this simple jab is being misconstrued as an actual insult is beyond me. Oh, it's not beyond me, it's just the typical garme jurnalizm sensationalism at work.
