Forums - Nintendo - Why Nintendo still doesn't have a trophy/achievement system to their games in 2015?

Predict When Ninty will bring trophies:

2016-2017, after their next consoles arrive. 60 22.73%

2025, better late. 17 6.44%

Nevah! 101 38.26%

Idc for this BS. (dont lie to yourself) 86 32.58%

Total:264

Wait, do people honestly think tha trophies/achievements would increase sales of their consoles/games?

Damn, you learn something new everyday.

I personally like them but the vast mayority of people don't care about them, its not as if Nintendo were to say "the new Zelda for WiiU will have trophies!" would increase sales of the game in any significant way.

Nintendo already makes plenty of games hard. Now imagine if they included achievements. You'll have to beat a game on Hero/insanity mode to get these points. Most Nintendo fans do it anyway without the need for an achievement. All it will be for is the guys who want a bigger score of meaningless points.

If it makes sense and the fans want it, Nintendo won't do it. Remember this is the company that once said "Customers do not want online games."

I think it's more of the idea that by implementing them they can possibly appeal to more people like achievement/trophy hunters.

Because trophies are stupid and only stupid people want trophies because they need a bigger epeen.
Since Nintendo fans already have the biggest penises they don't need trophies. If Nintendo implemented such a system their fans would only feel as if Nintendo doesn't think that they already have the biggest penises, which would make them sad.

tl;dr
Nintendo cares about their fans.

Giving choices is never a bad option, you know. I'm pretty sure there's WiiU owners who'd like an achievement/trophy system added. For everyone else, you don't need to pay attention and desactivate any trophy/achievement related things on the settings.

It's as simple as that.

They are in Game achievements/trophies and NO I WILL NOT CARE about any like PS/Xbo system, especially if they are also mostly STUPID achievements and even more especially if they don't add to anything.

Achievements aren't just yourself. You can prove to your friends thst you did something for instance. You can have competition for gamerscore(which leads to more games being bought =good for Nintendo if they implement it). Also it'd satisfying to see that gamerscore grow. Yes you know that you did awesome things but to see them grow into on combined number is fun and intereetjng

I can still prove to my friends that I got 100% on SM3DW and several other games. The miiverse screenshot is my proof.

Other than that, this "gamerscore competition" is just... sad. Very sad.

The movers screen shit isn't as simple and easy as achievements. You can quickly go from one game to the next. And this gamer score competition isn't sad at all. Is it sad to compete for  medal or some other sort of prize in another hobby like basketball? People say video gaming is sad. Do you agree? It's not nice at all to call someone's interest sad because you don't share them

Ltd predictions by the time 9th Gen comes out

Ps4:110million

Xbox one :75 million( was 65)

Wii u: 20 milliion

I`m guessing they don`t do this because they don`t see a major reason or need to do so. I also don`t see it as a vital thing. I`m fine with just playing a game and not needing to complete any set challenges programmed to keep me playing. If I like the game enough, and the challenges are fun, I`ll try for it. Some games do have achievements in them, like Zelda: Link Between Worlds and Ninten Land. It doesn`t show it to the world, but that`s okay, they don`t need to be shown.

I've  never met someone who thought like that. Ofc they're are probably people like that but the majority think it's a good thing to supplement your experience

You don't know Ka-pi96?

I am pretty sure the majority thinks that achievements are pretty pointless, otherwise the gamertags and PSN IDs I've seen on this forum over the years would have shown much higher numbers. Nevermind that forums in general are home to passionate gamers, so if even they can't really be bothered, then it isn't hard to imagine that the average gamer cares even less about achievements.

Do you really think Kapi only plays games for achievements and wouldn't play games without them? Wow. He might be enthusiastic about them but if that were actually true he wouldn't have owned a ps2 or deleted his other account which had more gamerscore. And also just because they don't go for a perfect 1000 or platinum doesn't mean they think they're pointless
