2025, better late. 17 6.44%

For me personally, I still feel the same excitement and accomplishment I did back in 2005 when that achievement pops up.

Do you feel accomplishment for getting an achievement for beating a level one boss?

I'm different where I complete games that I enjoy and want to complete, and finish a game when I reached the end. If there is more to complete in a game, and I don't care much for it, then I will pass it, but I don't really like a system that reminds me that I didn't complete a game and gives me a percentage on it.

The average gamer is not like that and it doesn't change the fact a lot of nintendo fans would like a system like that.  That's my point.

I think you are overgeneralizing this. Where do you base your claims on this comment? Many Ninten fans seems to oppose it as well, including me. Many of the comments from fans on this thread seem to be against that too, the comment about achievement and trophies being a good thing seems to be more from people who don't primarily plan on Ninten consoles.

Because it's something that appeals to a certain percentage of gamers.  It doesn't hurt you to have then unless you got OCD or something like that.  The benefits are purely for those who would appreciate them.  And Nintendo will gain a little extra cash.

Btw by you i mean you plural not you in particular.

I don't think too many people care about the trophy/achievements system anymore... I have 50k gamers core on 360/x1, and I stopped caring a long time ago... how many of those points are for, "clear chapter 1" or something worthless like that? Too many, I wouldn't miss achievements or trophy if they went away.

Isn't Miiverse for sharing screenshots for all those amazing moments, and what's more much more people can see it

pretty much this. it's not a big deal on it's own but when added with all the other missing features it is. Many people will say they don't care and don't need it but if Nintendo launch them with their next console many of these same people will love them and realisewhat they were missing out on. If you have gotten a few platinums on pS3 but you also love gaming on nintendo you'd know how sweet it would be platinuming some of nintendos best games like mario, zelda etc.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. You can get platinums on Nintendo games just as you can with any game ever - it's called 100%. I got a "platinum" on Super Mario 3D World and even posted the screenshot of it on Miiverse because I felt like bragging about it. I didn't feel like I didn't get rewarded or anything because the system didn't give me a little trophy saying I got a Platinum.

I look at it as a way to capture my gaming history. It would be really cool of they had trophies back in the early 90s and I could look back and see of the games I played as a kid and see all the trophies I earned.

Trophies are only an issue if you dont play certain games because they have a hard platinum or play a game you dont like because it is an easy platinum. For instance I have been spending time with Driveclub. Its not any platinum by any means as many of the trophies take skill, and many take alot of time. I still look at the trophy list, sometimes if it gives me an incentive to take a different approach (I thought Shadow of Mordor nailed the trophies, many them forced you to be creative with the Nemesis system)

psn- tokila

add me, the more the merrier.

On PS4 and XBox One you can post pictures direct to your Facebook or great video moments to Youtube.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

I'm sorry, but I personally don't give a rat's ass about that kind of stuff.. It never affects how much enjoyment I have with a game!

Achievements are about really achieving something in the game and getting somewhere. Do we really need trophies with that?

I never said Xbox One and PS4 didn't have those features, the point i was trying to make is that Miiverse sort of covers his complaint that he can't share the best moments on games on the Wii U, but on the Youtube note Nintendo will never let that through due to their new Youtube program and the fact they often remove videos on their games.

Understood.

Still would be nice if they implemented achievements though. Maybe even tie them to the new Club Nintendo they are creating.
