Not really a "win" for fans if thats all they improve cause imo, most fans wont really get things out of it cause they already played the game and just seeing it in a higher res is just yawn worthy for that price. I would much rather have Nintendo spend that money on something that is more worth while like Twilight Princess where there are many things to improve other than just the res

Textures can be greatly improved as well. It does not cost that much to make an HD remame. But you need to remember there are people with a Wii U that did not have a Wii. The Wii U feels more like a core gamer system to me than the Wii did and interested me enough to buy it. Also after gaming at 1080p on my PC it was hard to play at Wii resolutions to be honest. I hate that I can not play PS2 games anymore due to the same reason. It gives me headaches.

Well, you also have to remember that just by looking at the sales of the wiiU, most of the people that own a wiiU are Nintendo fans who love Nintendo games. And if they love Nintendo games, I am pretty sure they have played Mario Galaxy series at some point. And making a remaster where its mostly benefits the new consumer a lot more than the fans is a bad business practice imo cause a great remaster benefits both greatly where as a cheap remaster benefits mainly the new consumer. And of course, the textures will be improved but that comes with the whole, running it at 1080p natively... Where as Twilight Princess, lighting, textures, quite a few of the character models as well as many other things can be redone and a lot of people will be greatful for it

I know a couple of other people who did not own a Wii that do own a Wii U so I know for a fact I am not completely alone in this. The new consumer is who you have got to tend to, to show them why they should stay and later they will be a core Nintendo fan. I guess we just have to agree to disagree lol. Either way it does not look like it is going to happen

So I bought it. It is basically just the Wii Version without needing to switch to Wii Mode. Pretty disappointing. Game is super blurry (People PLEASE stop saying the Wii U upscales Wii games. It doesn't. PS3 upscaled PS2 games. Xbox 360 upscaled Xbox games. Wii games look exactly the same on Wii U.)

It did recognize my old save data which was cool. I'll probably play it again but if you already have the disc, you have the game. Is it worth the $$$ to keep from having to change discs or use the Gamepad as a screen (which does make games look much better!)? You decide.

*edit* forgot--you could use the Game Pad as a screen for Wii games already!  :P

Although is prefer them have HD Remasters. I don't think Nintendo has enough development time to so so on a wide scale. Its much less costlier to port them as is

"Never" is a committal word there. You can bet Galaxy 1 & 2 HD will happen someday. Almost certainly not in the next year, but probably in the next 20!

I don't care. They already look good. I'd rather this, because Wii games were the only grey area for virtual console. Basically confirms GCN VC, by the way. And definitely confirms BC with the next hardware as this is clearly setting up the infrastructure for their next digital library.

Boring Direct from a Wii U perspective, but insanely exciting from a Nintendo one.

The GC adaptor confirmed that ages ago.

That's just the DLC, wait for the real game.

Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever

Number ONE Zelda fan in the Universe

DKCTF didn't move consoles

Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

So, Nintendo re-releases a Wii game, that didn't move any systems, on Wii U that already has the game due backwards compatibility. No wonder their stock is in it's 52 week lowest.

Well, if it doesn't include the insulting instructional DVD, it's definately superior version.

Ei Kiinasti.

Eikä Japanisti.

Vaan pannaan jalalla koreasti.

Nintendo games sell only on Nintendo system.

Does anyone know if I can play mario galaxy using the gamepad controls? I really want both but I'm not wanting to buy a wiimote and nunchuck as I hate motion controls for platformers.
