Forums - Nintendo - Galaxy 1&2 HD never happening then?

Does anyone know if I can play mario galaxy using the gamepad controls? I really want both but I'm not wanting to buy a wiimote and nunchuck as I hate motion controls for platformers.

Most likely not. There are some elements in the game centered around aiming that make it virtually impossible to simply add real controls. Pity.

Dang...  That's a deal breaker for me.

What about MP 1 & 2?

I guess not because of MP3...

I have Trilogy. No other controls but Wiimote.

Hopefully they're building up towards Galaxy 3.

Yep.

There was no hope for HD Galaxy on Wii U, or any other Wii game in HD on Wii U.

It is very simply, Nintendo would never release any Wii HD game because you can already play all Wii games on Wii U, but we can see another GC remaster, because you can't play any GC game on Wii U, and there are good chance that we will see some Wii remaster games on next Nintendo console.

So, Nintendo re-releases a Wii game, that didn't move any systems, on Wii U that already has the game due backwards compatibility. No wonder their stock is in it's 52 week lowest.

Well, if it doesn't include the insulting instructional DVD, it's definately superior version.

Relax, this is game that you can already play on Wii U, only now in digital format too, nothing more or less.

So I bought it. It is basically just the Wii Version without needing to switch to Wii Mode. Pretty disappointing. Game is super blurry (People PLEASE stop saying the Wii U upscales Wii games. It doesn't. PS3 upscaled PS2 games. Xbox 360 upscaled Xbox games. Wii games look exactly the same on Wii U.)

It did recognize my old save data which was cool. I'll probably play it again but if you already have the disc, you have the game. Is it worth the $$$ to keep from having to change discs or use the Gamepad as a screen (which does make games look much better!)? You decide.

*edit* forgot--you could use the Game Pad as a screen for Wii games already!  :P

And there we have it. The proof for how redundant your "Should I buy Shovel Knight?" question was.

The bolded is exactly what Nintendo said in the Direct and I am pretty sure that the description in the eShop doesn't suggest otherwise. But you, you just can't believe them, so you spend money to confirm to yourself what would be a reasonable assumption for anyone who isn't a video game whore.

I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt.  Now I have video game chlamydia.  :(

Dammit I was dying to get these games as well! I need me some 3D mario!
