I really hope there is a 2016 for the WiiU, Too often Nintendo will just drop software production while they're ramping up the next cycle. In 2016 I'd love to see Animal Crossing, Metroid, Chibi Robo, and ExciteBots WiiU.
Yeah, I heard it's getting HL3 exclusively. For real.
Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

Well, what do you expect from Hyrule Legends? XD
That, or this thing here.
Stopped reading after Galaxy 3, due to confirmed no new Mario until next console.

If the the Wii U's only real 3D Mario is truly just another to the dead Galaxy horse, I'll be seriously annoyed. No one has any imagination. Mario Galaxy 3!? NO. Give us a new and even better concept.
But yeah SMT x FE needs to happen yesterday. Honestly, that game should be coming out this year. Next year simply isn't acceptable.
My only real prediction for 2016 on Wii U is Metroid. I think the 3D Mario will be the Wii U's successor's launch title. Might launch across platforms, though. We're definitely not getting F-Zero anytime soon, which is a damn shame. Though it might be a blessing, as Miyamoto sounds like he wants to gimmick butcher it the same way he's gimmick butchering Star Fox now.
I'd love to see a Kid Icarus game come to the Wii U. Same with Mario Strikers and Diddy Kong Racing 2. Maybe we'll see a 3D Donkey Kong game that's not complete trash like 64 was? While I think that the Returns series is not as good as the Country trilogy, that formula would be amazing for a 3D Donkey Kong game!
Also, there's the obligatory "I want a Pokemon console RPG" request that is impossible because Gamefreak is stupid and stubborn.
No Paper Mario? Also, lol at those suggesting F-Zero..

realistically i expect 2016 to be a big come-down from 2015 if not a lot gets delayed this year (which i don't think will happen). here are my predictions for some of the big guns, tho:
1. metroid: there will almost certainly be a metroid game (which will hopefully be an october title--that is, not the tentpole holiday title) for either or both the 3ds and the wii u (a repeat of 2002 with fusion/prime dropping same day?).
2. mario: there will be a mainline mario title, possibly in the galaxy line, but maybe in the *sunshine* line if sunshine hd is indeed nintendo's remaster this year (i think it will be). this would be the holiday title presumably.
3. pokémon: pokken fighters will be due for its console release in 2016, and that's a perfect september title (and a lead-in to a new pokémon spin-off, maybe detective pikachu, on 3ds).
4. animal crossing: this is coming. good spring title.
5. f-zero: i think the mute city track in mk8, as well as the whole anti-gravity thing, is the surest sign that nintendo's thinking of doing this. it may, like star fox, be an experimental title where the content is either episodic or released over time. that works best for a title like this, which like star fox has a cult following but not the broad appeal of mario/zelda/poké-everything.
i think there's a platinum title coming between bayonetta 2 and 3. i think it will be a new ip and not a w101 sequel. there will be some delectable 2d platforming to be had, no doubt, as nintendo's been spoiling platformer fans like myself of late... beyond that, maybe a fire emblem title (maybe the cross-over with smt, tho that was having some development troubles) and maybe another hyrule warriors game since that's doing pretty swimmingly...

I think at least 3 games from this list we will see in 2016.
