Miyamoto needs to retire before he damages the great franchises he built in his prime.
Better to part on good terms than let his career die a slow and undignified death.

But, why do you say this? He's still doing ok, well, aside from that Sticker Star; but still.

Starfox's controls worry me deeply. It sounds like he's just used the franchise for window dressing to sell Nintendoland 2.

What? Why the fuck do we need some special controller for F-Zero? What's wrong with the Pro. Sounds like excuses to me.

Hey, Miyamoto, you know what controller would suit F-Zero? A standard controller. Do you know what controller would suit every video game? A standard controller. You can't fix what isn't broken. "Create a new controlle interface" -- what are you intending to do? Whatever it is; I can tell you right now that it isn't a good idea. The Wii faltered late in life because of its controls and the Wii U never began because of its controls.

Not true I'd argue; plenty of Wii games would not have been as great as they are without motion control.

And the controls had nothing to do with Wii faltering, it was that the software simply stopped.

Fast Racing Neo is as close as we get. Not sure how that game is coming along though.

FRN is becoming Shin'en's Last Guardian, haha. It was supposed to be released last year, now it doesn't have any release window at all.

Last we heard was in an article dated 3rd December, where they said "We're in a good way though, we have something running and the gameplay is fine, so we just need to add content."

So, it took them all this time to make a functioning engine and they haven't actually made a game yet? Damn. Maybe we'll see it by the end of 2015.

I hope so. They started work on it in late 2012, so it's been in the oven for over two years. Granted, they've made other games in that time though.

You overreacting way too much. Just because they had that F-Zero minigame does not mean Star Fox, or F-Zero, will be downgraded to that level.

Just make another one for N64.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

What he meant to say is that the Wii U console has not sold enough units for a project like this to be financially viable.

Still, this only concerns potential new entries in the series and I doubt he'd be willing to announce that he is working on a remake in an interview like this. A remake may well be in the works.

Nintendo's being talking it up about allowing third parties to work on their franchises, I think this is a perfect opportunity. After all it worked out ok last time.
