Forums - Sony - PlayStation Now Subscription Pricing Brings In Mixed Reactions From Users

If thus came as part of the PS+ service at no additional cost it'd be worth it. As a stand alone this is way inferior to EA's Access and not worth the extra price.

wow..... unreasonable doesn't even begin to describe you.

And you're comparing this to EA access? that alone tells me you are either excruciatingly biased or you just totally do not get the point.

if you want to compare this to anything, compare it to gamefly. its the only thing on the planet that remotely offers the exact same service.

Gamefly gives access to 10 different systems including the next gen systems, and new release games.  Compared to that, PSNow is a bit limited, even if the streaming is convenient.

Gamefly can give access to a 100 systems. you can still only rent 1 game at a time.

and that thing about new releases, any kinda content is new if being consumed for the first time. lastly, the service just started, we have no idea where and how it will mature.

I think it´s fair pricing, but they should include PS+ in the price.

What would the point of that? PSNow does not require a console in order to use it.

A person using a tablet and/or TV would have no need for PS+. People are looking at this service the wrong way. They are looking at it as current PS3 and/or PS4 owners.

But Sony are looking at it as a way to get more players into the Sony brand and therefore PS+ would be an extra incentive to get people to buy their consoles aswell, added value you know :). Also, it would enable Sony to say that if a game is included in PS+ on a console, you get to keep that game in PS Now aswell for example.

I think it is more of a way to just make use of their back catalog of older titles and not much to do with selling their new consoles. They do that with new releases made specifically for those consoles.

If this was about bringing people to their brand or more specifically their consoles they wouldn't be bringing this service to just about everything under the sun.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Have you seen the pricing for EA Access? Also, have you noticed that EA Access has new games as part of their list? I'm not a hardcore gamer so I'm sure I have not played a good chunk of the games that PS Now offersr. I see myself to be what a lot of people in this thread have refered to as" the person that does not have a console". I rarely play with my Xbox One. I main watch Netflix on it, use Xbox Fitness and will play games an hour at most randomly throughout the week if I'm not doing work/school stuff.

So, if I were to get a Samsung TV with access to PS Now , I expect the level of price that Netflix offers. I guarantee you that most regular Joe's with no console will only pay for PS Now  if it's below $10 bucks because they will not see having access to 100+ old games as worth the money since they probably don't have time to play all of them anyways. Netflix is appealing because of its pricing and because it offers new content. PS Now is nowhere near that and at least EA is giving access to their network for cheap to gamers which makes sense. Hence why is more desirable for me, particularly because I do not own any of their games and I know they're not games I have played before.

That might actually be a pretty good idea, or do it in the reverse and give PS+ members a discount ($15/$35 instead of $20/$45). Would add incentive for those who already own a PS3.

put some (older) ps4 Games in, too
otherwise it's still overpriced.

even ea Access is more valueable

do they pay me when i use it?

I think that's actually a decent price point if it allows access too all of the titles in the service and comes with quality service. I haven't tried the service myself yet but i'm positive they probably still have room to improve.

Definitely better priced than $5 for 4 hours per game or whatever the hell that was prior.

EA access will only work if you already own an XB1. and only for EA games. PS+ will work if you own a PS4, PS3 or PSvita. and in addition to allowing you play online you get 2 games for each of those platforms every month. mostly nee games too and oh, this isn't restricted to just EA games.

PSnow ultimately will work on every smart device on the planet. and if not on your XB1, on the TV that XB1 is connected to or your smartphone or tablet. The only hardware you will need is a dual shock 4 controller. this service is not Netflix. its not dealing in movies and TV shows. its a game service. so if you want to compare it to anything compare it to another game service. and the only thing comparable is a service that has existed for over 10 years. Gamefly, and do you know how its subscription fee is? $15/month. more so, you can only rent a game at a to,we and need the game hardware in your house to play it.

that you don't know all these differences is beyond me or kinda suspicious. but answer this. this is a service that only (so far) has games from the previous generation of consoles. who do you think its currently directed at? for someone that never owned a PS3 or didn't play most of the games the service will offer, or someone new to gamimg and doesn't want to buy a console but just wants to stream to their TV, do you think they would look at these games as "old"?

that's like watching The matrix trilogy today for the first time and calling it old Lol. anything you are getting for the first time is new. as it stands, this service is tailor made for people that either never owned a ps3 or hasn't played most of the games on offer. lastly, the service is still in beta for a reason.
