Forums - Sony - PlayStation Now Subscription Pricing Brings In Mixed Reactions From Users

Bullshit article. I think they (being, GamingBolt) think the prices aren't good, and so they're just getting "sources" to back up the claims, with the hope that people won't check the sources out.

I was a part of the Reddit thread, regarding the announcement, from within 20 minutes of it being posted. And the reaction and top comments are almost all positive. And looking at the NeoGaf thread, it's the same.

And they're worried that the service will appeal to people who haven't played on PS3 before? I'm pretty sure the service was explicitly meant for (idealogically speaking) people who haven't played on PS3.

Even the GamingBolt comments (few as they are right now) are ripping into this article.

What's not to like about those prices? That's perfectly reasonably, or were there people expecting to get it for free or something stupid like that?

Well $15 a month or $180 a year is kinda pricey.

I think it´s fair pricing, but they should include PS+ in the price.

Well looking at it from a British perspective... $180 = £118. Amazon's movie/TV streaming = £80 a year. Considering games are often 3-4 times as expensive as movies that doesn't seem so bad at all.

Since when are the prices in the UK anything close to the US prices...?

I think even with great connections, I still don't think it looks perfectly like the ps3 games they are emulating. I will say the library seems weak as well. I have bought up $30 dollars on the service, doubt I really will anymore.

I don't think they are emulating. I think they manufactured something like a PS3-in-a-rack and either a special OS which steams the output and / or additional hardware doing that...

Lowering the price would be desastrous for Sony as the number of racks can't scale as it would do if they could "just turn on" some Amazon EC2 instances.

It's kind of steep, but PS3 isn't in the past yet so it should be OK. Sony needs to lower the price eventually though.

I think the price is fair. But you want to invite more people by offering packages. For example if on ps4 and have ps+ price should be 15 a month 35 for 3 months 110 for a year.
Cause you already have the console and ps+.
But for other devices price should stay what they are

Yes, great deal! But i can't afford expensive internet subscription fee though.

20 bucks is FAIR but is also a lot of money especially based on a year.

$20 seems like a fair price down the line when all the bugs are ironed out and the library has expanded to include PS1/2/PSP/Vita games. The current list of games offered is not even worth half that monthly fee imho.
