Which "VGC" are u reading? lawl

Anyway, as for Bayonetta 2. I doubt the game requires too much to break even and its a good addition to Nintendo's library so even though it flopped in sales, I think both parties aren't really bumbed out about it but obviously, they would be a lot happier if it sold a lot more! As for the future of the franchise, obviously, someone will have to fund it that isn't Sega cause god knows they would rather make another shitty Sonic game than support something as epic as Bayonetta

Even if it did not break even, Nintendo's reputation as a niche game backer has only improved, so it's a good deal overall for them.

Also don't be so pessimistic about Sega, they own Atlus now ='(

This concept of flop is very wide isnt it?

Nintendo games dont have millions spent in advertisement. They dont need millions in sales to break even.

Bayonetta 2 is actually selling well, its showing pretty good legs with a 20k line in the US and 10k in europe. Its going to sell as well as the original did in a single console with a much smaller userbase. The only thing is see flopping is the claim that its not doing well.

I have serious doubts about those numbers given VGChartz's history with niche games. All we really know for sure is that it did pretty poorly according Media Create and didn't chart on NPD. Whether that constitutes a flop depends on the companies' expectations, and we can only guess at those.

It should be coming to the PS4 in a matter of years.

Doubt it. Not even because of Nintendo. I just think it won't be "next gen" enough to make the jump. The HD remakes of these types of games will have mostly stopped by that time.

Are you beeing sarcastic? :p This is a 1080p 60fps game. Its more next-gen than anything else out on the PS4/X1.

Anfebious... for the love of whatever you find dear, give it up. Its impossible for a Nintendo game to come to PS4.

Maybe we should wait another 10-15 weeks to confirm the legs?

It's ashame that Wii U owners havent supported the game. The same can be said with Sunset Overdrive on the Xbox One. Both games scored amazingly well in rating yet they both sold meh... Yet xbox one owners are all playing COD and complaining about "COD is the same thing every year" blah blah blah and Wii U owners are crying that there is no third party game support. Well this is why. I just got my Wii U and I cant wait to pick up a copy of Bayo 2

If we arent sure about the numbers, then we cant make claims that it flopped either.

I highly doubt these weekly numbers in the US at least are correct, at the end of November Bayonetta 2 had only sold about 90k in the US according to NPD numbers, don't know why those numbers aren't adjusted.

Bayonetta 2 has not sold 250k in the US, not even close.

Yeah. With a sequel for a very niche game you'd expect it to be very frontloaded. If the rumored 68k for October and 90k for November NPDs are true then there's just no way that it's selling 10-20k a week in the US now.

Seriously another fucking thread about this?

Ugh, no it's not. First, it's 720p, not 1080p. Second, it struggles to maintain 60fps. Third, it doesn't have anywhere near the visual fidelity of a "next gen" game. Do I think it's better than most next gen games that came out this year? Most likely. Does that make it "next gen?" No, it doesn't.

It's also a shame that all those who cried about the game being exclusive didn't purchase a Wii U to play it.
