I doubt the game requires too much to break even and its a good addition to Nintendo's library so even though it flopped in sales, I think both parties aren't really bumbed out about it but obviously, they would be a lot happier if it sold a lot more! As for the future of the franchise, obviously, someone will have to fund it that isn't Sega cause god knows they would rather make another shitty Sonic game than support something as epic as Bayonetta |
Even if it did not break even, Nintendo's reputation as a niche game backer has only improved, so it's a good deal overall for them.
Also don't be so pessimistic about Sega, they own Atlus now ='(
