Are you beeing sarcastic? :p This is a 1080p 60fps game. Its more next-gen than anything else out on the PS4/X1.

Anfebious... for the love of whatever you find dear, give it up. Its impossible for a Nintendo game to come to PS4.

Ugh, no it's not. First, it's 720p, not 1080p. Second, it struggles to maintain 60fps. Third, it doesn't have anywhere near the visual fidelity of a "next gen" game. Do I think it's better than most next gen games that came out this year? Most likely. Does that make it "next gen?" No, it doesn't.

What makes a game "next-gen" then? AcUnity for example struggles to keep 30fps.  You may say Bayo2 isnt next gen, but i dont see these "next-gen" games you talk about. They are a dream. Bayo 2 is here, it looks amazing and it plays amazing. I dont know how that can be anything less than an advancement.

We are going a bit off-topic here though. :P

I didn't know what to answer in the poll as I like both.

I usually switch between the two types of games. Like start off with Mario, then zombiu, then pikmin, then batman, then donkey kong, then mass effect.. you get the drill. That way I don't get tired of the "same" type of game.

AC Unity is a bad next gen game. Bayo2 is a great game that is only "next gen" in catagory. It's not next gen in features. Galaxy is also good and plays amazing. Does that make it next gen? No. That makes it good.

This concept of flop is very wide isnt it?

Nintendo games dont have millions spent in advertisement. They dont need millions in sales to break even.

Bayonetta 2 is actually selling well, its showing pretty good legs with a 20k line in the US and 10k in europe. Its going to sell as well as the original did in a single console with a much smaller userbase. The only thing is see flopping is the claim that its not doing well.

Maybe we should wait another 10-15 weeks to confirm the legs?

If we arent sure about the numbers, then we cant make claims that it flopped either.

It's not a flop, below 300k would've been a flop, above 700k (which it will surpass sometime in 2015) I would consider it a success.

We only have numbers for the pre-holiday time, it's expected that the game sells decently just after release and before christmas, right? Now I want to see its line around January-March to see where it might stand at the end of the year.

It is somewhat disappointing just because it was recieved so well, Nintendo did a decent job of promoting it (not big marketing I know but at E3, with Nintendo Directs etc.) and provided such great value with the Bayonetta 1 + 2 pack (I am not a fan of the genre in general but after seeing the reception it got, playing the demo and seeing the inclusion of the first game in the special edition I thought it was worth buying). As it is, sales are pretty much in line with what you might have expected knowing Bayonetta 2 was releasing on the Wii U with the sales the console has. But it would have been good if the fact that the game seems to have been recieved extremely well and the extra effort put into it could have made it exceed expectations.

It's almost a shame they already released the version with Bayonetta 1 - they could have released some sort of game of the year edition including it next year (though maybe all that would do is milk the hardcore fans some more...). As it stands I don't know what else they could add to release a special edition so I don't know if they'll able to help sustain its sales with anything like that.

It should be coming to the PS4 in a matter of years.

Whatever happens, the flame of the French resistance must not and shall not die.

I highly doubt these weekly numbers in the US at least are correct, at the end of November Bayonetta 2 had only sold about 90k in the US according to NPD numbers, don't know why those numbers aren't adjusted.

Bayonetta 2 has not sold 250k in the US, not even close.

Wasn't there something like that Bayonetta 2 NPD numbers just being made up and no real data? I'm pretty sure there was.

Then there's Nintendo of Frances statement that Bayo 2 sold arround 60K over there some weeks ago.

Why does everyone keep saying that it's a niche game? Since when slashers have become niche.

My Etsy store

My Ebay store

Deus Ex (2000) - a game that pushes the boundaries of what the video game medium is capable of to a degree unmatched to this very day.

I honestly thought it had sold less than 500K

that is great for that short amount of time

still need to pick up the game myself :P
