super punch out was a classic and felt like a huge step up in almost every category. i feel like the noise that it makes when you punch someone in that game is very satisfying and i never had any problems being able to tell what was going on lol. i like punch out for wii a whole lot, but it feels more like a remake than an actual next gen punchout that it should have been. it was very disappointing to me. i think their ONE new character was a riot and hilarious. i wish we could have saw more of that. every other character was a remake of the first game. its disappointng. you have to admit that more original characters would have made the game way more enjoyable.

I would love more new characters, but I wouldnt want to leave out anyone that was in it. If they make a new one, then sure. It was more of a reboot than a remake imo. Super Punch-Out!! was like the arcade games. Ive tried them and they are horrible. Never been a fan of the wire frame thing. It gets in the way of what the opponents are doing.

if i had it my way, little mac wouldnt have been wire frame.. but super punch out was an actual evolution. i wanted to see the same kind of evolution in the wii version :(. BUT, they did nail the most important aspects: the gameplay mechanics. which is why i cant see giving this game lower than a  high 8. 8.7/8.8. it deserves a score of at least that high. i just feel like its really lacking when you consider the character roster and lack of innovative game modes.

Not sure what you would want, but it had great game modes imo. The Title Defend is awesome, the challenges are great, the last stand is cool and it has MP. Never tried the MP, but I heard it was ok.

But at the same time not having the core market is crippling them.

I can't believe there's so much more voters for Sony than MS, tells alot about the site if you ask me.

I would say Nintendo simply because they seem to survive well. But they need to adapt fast and catchup.
Sony may not survive in the gaming industry, but PS could as a stand-alone Company or if somehow it's bought up.
MS has the money to continue with Xbox for as long as it wants. Even at times when it doesn't make money it would contribute to the whole MS brand.

well you have to consider the fact that microsoft has huge factions within the corporation that want to ditch xbox or keep it. phil spencer did a great job increasing the sales of the x1 this last holiday season, but there are still going to be many people who want to get rid of it all together and cut their losses with it. microsoft as a corporation is hugely divided over that division of their company. that really isnt a good sign in terms of the longevity of xbox consoles being made. also, sony has whittled down their company and relies more heavily on video games than ever before. so i can see why people would choose sony over microsoft.

xbox has a real problem,it looks like m$ isnt willing to take more loses with it, but it needs a permanent cut to 349$ to be succesfull enough for m$.

I believe in 10 years video gaming will be majorly digital and Nintendo won't know how to handle it. MS and Sony are getting ready for the inevitable.

But that's just my take.

Not sure what you mean by that. Nintendo has been very agressive with digital games in the past few years.

If they're thinking about going 3rd party that would be good enough. I don't think they have what it takes to be fully digital as in streaming games anywhere you want.

Well, in the last Fiscal Year briefing thingy Iwata has greatly hinted at some sort of same architaecture and same OS for thier next platforms. Ones that would make it easy to develop for both, and perhaps even in the very same way. They also talked about QOL there is this "Fusion" rumour which does not necersarliy mean 1 platform being a cross between a handheld and a home console.  I think they have plenty of time  to invest in streaming stuff, if that even would be bigger than downloading actual games, since that's quite far away and we have no idea what they are planning for thier next consoles. Thier digital downloads have improved a lot and are becoming increasing popular.

I hope they keep the eShop brand. Nintendo is TERRIBLY at keeping good brands....

ok, i did forget about MP, that is a very welcome addition. the challenges were awesome, i agree. but im just saying that i would expect more from a game that hasnt seen a sequel in 15 years. i guess my biggest gripe is the lack of original characters and remade characters from super punch out. (mad clown, dragon chan, masked muscle, hoy quarlow, any of those would have been amazing)

it is. but we should know by now that this can change at any time. watching people go from SNES to PSX, from PS2, to 360, 360 to PS4.. the mass market has no brand loyalty at all.

Well they aren't really done with the generation yet, fact is that they released a mainline Pokemon title every year since 2012 (if one of them is a remake really doesn't matter all that much, since people buy them just as much as the new games anyway) and I wouldn't be the least bit surprised, if there's one in 2015 as well. And you can also count the spin off Pokemon games, which there's always plenty off and which sometimes take the most ridiculous shapes, all just to make a quick buck of the Pokemon IP.

It's extremely difficult to make a case denying that Nintendo is massively flooding the market and milking the Pokemon IP.

Pokemon is your only exampe which makes your case weak.

That's Gamefreak.

My case? What's my case other than that Pokemon is being extremely milked?

Also great how it's always "Nintendo should do this or that with Pokemon" but now this is suddenly all on Game Freak as if Nintendo has no say in the matter.

The characters from the NES game are just better. Most of the ones from Super Punch-Out!! arent really that great. They did wonders with Bear Hugger and Aran Ryan, but the others wouldnt really fit in the new one. Mad Clown? Come on now...

They can have a say, but they choose not to. Gamefreak/Pokemon company is the one that doesn't want the main series to also be on home consoles.

Also, cod, fifa, ac (shame)  ect say afternoon.

Good on battlefield for taking it's time and being great.

i mention mad clown because of how unique he is! yes, mad clown, hoy quarlow, narcis prince! those were all fabulous characters.
