Yes I think this is the main problem with this prediction, Nintendo has not changed with the times and most companies that don't, Fail.

If they maintained their new model (avoid large long term losses and use the install base as a foothold for other services, not simply game royalties), then SCE could probably survive fairly comfortably on a moderate sized install base (with the backing of the primary company for large short term losses such as the $1b+ they'll have needed to manufacture the launch wave of PS4s). I don't have the knowledge to state an actual number, but certainly a less less than 80+ million.

TL;DR - I agree, but Sony and MS have come a long way in improving the financial viability of their consoles.

They can have a say, but they choose not to. Gamefreak/Pokemon company is the one that doesn't want the main series to also be on home consoles.

Good on battlefield for taking it's time and being great.

What does being on home consoles have to do with this? Pokemon is being extremely milked, by all parties that have a say in it, god I can't believe that people constantly try to push the blame away from Nintendo with these things.

Yes. I believe so.

Most of the world (including the U.S) is not ready to mass market streaming video games, in a few years maybe in Europe and Korea which have the fastest internet, but definitely not most of America and Asia (I assume Australia as well). You say 10 years, but unless Fiber internet connection (or some other source of high speed internet connection) gets a huge mass market bump, neither of the 3 companies will be ready to ditch out other sources for people to play games. I can see physical media being removed completely in 10 years, but streaming is a whole other story. It won't viable for the gaming industry until the amount of people that can stream correctly is much much bigger than the ones that can't

Yes, that's what I was thinking of as well. People saying GameFreak won't do it because they are lazy.

if you take a look at the BIGGEST publishers in the industry, nintendo is the LEAST culpable of milking their franchises. thats the point people are trying to make. and like i said before, i halfway agree with you on pokemon. maybe 3/4 agree. its still not as bad as many others. again, nitnendo is the least guilty of this and the fact that their franchises last three decades is proof of that.

There are informed people and there are uninformed people, for sure. I figure if you're a fan of something you're more likely to be the former. This is not always the case.

I did not make one fucking comment about any of the other Nintendo franchises, I talked about Pokemon being milked...by everyone involved... period.
