Forums - Nintendo - Super Mario 64 HD Fan Remake - Developer Showcase

It looks awful. All the charm of the original has been sucked out. I don't think Super Mario 64 needs an HD upgrade, it still looks good to this day.

This. Something seems so off with Mario in that video.

Meh. I realize that it's a work in progress and for a fan it's a cool project, but Nintendo would do a way better job of it themselves. As it is, those trees and Mario himself are aweful. The castle is decent. Not that I could do better myself .

We've already seen a remake on DS. I'd love to see an HD version though, that would rule!

Thanks for all the great memories!

This looks worse than Galaxy, and the camera is pretty bad too...I mean, its cool for a fan project, but in no way is it "fans doing better than Nintendo"

It's kinda cool for a fan project, plus the project is not even close to being finish!

Looks good but I am sure if Nintendo made one, they would do a much better job at it! Mario 64 DS + emulator looks impressive imo

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

Like everybody else is saying, this looks neat for a fanmade project, but Nintendo would most likely top it if they wanted to.

Of course, Nintendo has quite a few large development teams while this is like, 4 people. For what it is, it looks good, but it looks still pretty early in development and a lot of work is still to be done.

It's definitely from the Brawl model, the same goes for Peach. Right now, the whole thing looks unnatural, but obviously it can improve. Looking forward to it.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.
