This isn't PC gaming. Console games run through generations.

Their current home console is 8th gen, wich automatically makes the next one 9th gen.

AMD said that those design will launch 2016 but its up to their customers to announce them (which I guess will be E3 2015 for Facebooks Oculus console, maybe 2016 for Amazon).
It's not going to happen so quickly, but if it did I'd say unless the WiiU stays on and outlives that successor (similar to what happened with the Atari 5200) for whatever reason, it's 9th Gen. If then the PS5 and next XBox would release so late that they'd launch near a Nintendo '10th' gen console, I'd say Sony and Microsoft skipped 9th gen altogether, unless if there wouldn't be a Nintendo 10th gen console. Or something.
Nintendo will not release it before 2017.
And it will be basically the same architecture of ps4/xbone with a little better cpu and much better gpu.
Maybe retro-compatibility with Wii and WiiU
Maybe more like 8.5 gen, like the Wii. Unless they release a super up to date spec machine that completely shadows the Xbone and PS4.
I really want them to have it in 2017
XBOX ONE/Wii U/3DS/PC

Thanks for all the great memories!

Pretty much this. All they need is a console that can run 4Bone games at 60fps. Should be easily achievable with a 2017 launch provided they give up on the expensive gimmickry. In fact it should be possible now. I'm kind of shocked at the lack of processing power in the 8th gen consoles.
gen 9. but it would be really complicated if, like you said, the next sony and ms consoles were 2020 and nintendo released one in 2021.. good thing there is no chance of that happening though. id expect nintendos console in 2017 and sony/ms 2019 at the LATEST. most likely 2018
