I'm having difficulty figuring out if Nintendo's management are actually stupid or just in willful denial.

Nintendo's too big a ship to sink overnight, their beloved franchises can keep them afloat, but they're just so far out of touch with the Western market it's staggering.

What on earth gave them the idea that low power consumption was a more desired feature than graphics parity with the competition? Or that what gamers wanted at the birth of an 8th gen console in 2012 was a minigame collection and yet another New Super Mario Bros game? Whatever they pass around at Kyoto HQ, I wouldn't recommend trying to get it through customs.

Their games are still the best in the business, but quality only gets you so far in today's market.

I don't know why there's so many nintendo related threads lately...

Back on topic, they should resign. They don't understand gamers as a whole and they're stubborn. Bad combination.

So you're telling me Iwata STILL has a job?

Yes, who would have thought?!

Did you people expect Iwata to be as aggresive as Yamauchi? Iwata was a former programmer, Yamuchi was tailored to be a president. You can't expect the same level of aggresiveness if someone else replaces Iwata!

Bet with Xander XT:

I can beat more games on his 3DS than he can on my PSVita in a month. Loser has to buy the winner a game on his/her handheld Guess who won? http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=193531

Me!

They still need to improve localization and make an actual push into online multiplayer in games like SM3DW before I will start to change my stance on them. Local multiplayer is great, but online shouldn't be shunned for it. Also, the virtual console needs better pricing/more frequent sales.

Still tired of seeing the same Nintendo mascots over and over again.

I never hated them. But they do need to change their ways of thinking a bit.

Not "everyone" hated Nintendo management. I certainly didn't. I knew where the fucked up in 2013, with that big drought of games, and I knew why (putting too much resources on 3DS and not enough on their new home console). They've since fixed that, and balanced it out. Unfortunately, the reality of game development is, especially if you don't want unfinished pieces of shit (like Ubisoft puts out), then games are going to take awhile to make.

This year was solid. Next year looks stacked. I think Wii U is just fine, and I still like Iwata/Reggie just fine.

I'm just worried ol' Miyamoto is going to ruin "Star Fox" for me, when all I want is a REAL, GOOD Star Fox game again, for once. That's my only major gripe (outside of no battle mode in MK and no adventure mode in Smash).

No, I hate conservatism.

Nintendo has a lot  of haters by default, and most of them are fanboys of certain company that I'm not going to mention and pretendos. "i love nintendo but the same games blah blah blah" yet, buying every AC, COD, NBA, Final Fantasy, etc.
